We all know what AP courses are.
Those fine classes that make our GPAs drop (well not mine...) and have us fail a test at the end of the year.
Are you/did you taking/take any AP courses in high school?
If so, how many have you taken/did you take/on track to take?
Of the AP courses you've taken, which is your favorite? Least favorite?
One. AP European History. It's OK.
AP US History this year. It's a total joke. This is the teacher's second year teaching. He's originally from Britain, too. And our Euro teacher is American. How ironic.
Next year I am taking AP Euro History, AP English, and AP Psych. Should be fun.
doing them right now.
They are really hard but they are definitely worth it for college

lol AP and over achievers
That's funny because I'm so not an overachiever. If I can't get my homework done in my one study hall, I don't bother doing it at all. I don't study for anything, not because I know the material, just because I don't care enough or am just too lazy. My mom has even criticized me for doing just enough to get by, and that's the truth. I just do what I need to do, and sometimes not even that.
The only class that I'll actually do at home is English. I'll work on my essays and read the books at home. Otherwise, school stays at school and does not interfere at home. I still don't study for English, though.
I only do the ones which are, to me, easy. AP Chemistry and AP Computer Science this year; AP Calculus and AP Physics and AP Statistics next year. AP Chem seems notorious for a hard exam that only at most a couple people in each school pass, but I'm the top of my class; CS's exam looks like it'll be ridiculously easy.
I took AP World History last year only because it's the only AP class 10th grade students can take and I hated it and failed the exam D:
My aunt, one of the school counselors, noticed my transcript. Now I'm taking AP World History next year. :U

If it makes you feel any better, I passed with a "3".
Are you/did you taking/take any AP courses in high school?
Yes, I'm a junior and am currently taking AP "English Language and Composition" (AP English 3) and AP Government and Politics. If so, how many have you taken/did you take/on track to take?
These are my first two AP classes.Of the AP courses you've taken, which is your favorite? Least favorite?
No favorites, really.Next year, I'm probably taking AP English 4, AP US History II, and AP Statistics.

This is me, except I do my homework. Lately, I've been trying to know all the dates of my test and quizzes and study for them, and it's sort of working well. Before (and kind of still now), I'd always be that guy who said "There's a test?" the day it's given. Even my parents criticized me for not caring enough.
Also, you're very lucky that you can get all of your homework done in study halls. I only have two a week that last about 45 minutes each.
I'm currently taking US History, Biology, Comparative Government, Calculus AB, and Psychology (self-study). Next year, I'm looking at Literature, Physics, Calculus BC, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, US Government, Music Theory, and Environmental Science (HNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG). Last year I took European History, and got a 4.
My most favorite is Comparative Government (because our teacher coaches football and baseball; he doesn't give a poop if he cusses in class. He's also a intercourse ing psycho); my least favorite is Biology, mainly because the teacher can't teach for crap.
Take my life now ;_;
I never answered my own question.
Last year I took AP World History and got a 3.
This year I'm taking:
AP Spanish
AP English Language and Composition
AP US History
AP Biology
AP Psychology
Next year I'm taking:
AP Literature
AP Environmental Science
AP US Government
AP Macroeconomics
AP Calculus AB
A total of 11 AP courses. ;__;
My favorite so far is probably AP Psychology.
My least favorite is definitely AP Bio. Like Mikoyan, my teacher can't teach for crap and I KNOW I'm going to fail the AP test because of that.
I don't know why I felt the need to write AP in front of every single one of the courses...
What are these one digit numbers that everyone's talking about? Are they like some sort of special end-of-class grade? I don't pay attention to my grades anyway, so meh... (at my own).

Usually, if not every time you take an AP course, you take the AP test at the end of the year.
It's a standardized test administered by CollegeBoard and it determines how "qualified" you are in the subject.
The scale ranges from 1 - 5 with 5 being the highest.
A 3 or above is considered passing.
The reason that these tests are so important is that they determine whether or not you can get college credit for the courses you take. Most colleges will only accept 4's or 5's on the test in order to get credit, even though a 3 is passing.

YOU CAN GET SHIT GRADES AND THEN THE AWESOME TEACHER WILL BALANCE IT OUT AT THE END OF THE YEAR
I took AP US History last year. I made a B in the class and a 4 on the test.
Now, I'm taking 4 AP classes...Calculus, Statistics, Biology, and English. My favorite is Calculus, because, well, it just is. My least favorite...well, when it comes to sciences, I'm more into Physics or Chemistry than Biology. I was taking AP Physics, until I was forced to give it up for AP English so I could graduate.

I've known this for a while and hate the fact. I expect that high school is a cakewalk compared to college.
This year I'm taking AP Physics and AP US History.
I have an A in AP Physics since I'm basically a genius in anything mathematically related, but I'm having a hard time maintaining a B- in history, since I've always hated social studies. =\ I'm not too worried about the AP exam for Physics, since the requirements to get a 3 on it aren't even that high, but I have a good feeling I'm going to fail the AP exam for APUSH. My stupid teacher never teaches us a darn thing and she doesn't even know the answers to the questions on tests she hands out to us. *facepalm*
Next year I'm taking AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Government, AP Economics, and hopefully AP Astrophysics if my school gets the funding for it. I'm only worried about AP Gov for next year, but the rest should be cake.

Wow, I'm the opposite. I really like Social Studies--which I'm pretty good at--but I'm not nearly as good in math. Math is okay, but in 8
th I had a teacher that was--let's just say--less than perfect. She didn't prepare us for high school, so I eventually got stuck in horrible regular level math classes. I might be taking AP Statistics next year though.
I'm actually taking AP Government and Politics this year. I think I get a B on it every marking period, so it's not that difficult--just hard to study for.
You're lucky that you might even have AP Astrophysics though. I think I'd like that.
AP Exams are next week!
Is everyone ready?
What's your first exam?
Mine is AP Spanish on Tuesday, May 4th.
I'm nervous as hell because the teacher has such high expectations for us. :\
I have History next thursday. My teacher kind of stopped trying and just told us to learn from World War II to now on our own.
I took AP Euro and AP US History, had NO IDEA what was going on, but got 4s on both.
I took Calc BC and got a 3, but that gets me credit at my college anyway. This year I'm taking AP Lang, Music Theory, Studio Art, and Stats.
We shall see what happens; senioritis hit me hard.

It's a good thing APUSH hardly tests anything beyond the 1970s. Apparently it's "too new" for AP or something...
Today is AP Statistics. I hope I do well, but considering how little our teacher taught us, I might not. I've been self-teaching myself stats for a while now.
I just took my Government and Politics exam on Monday. If I passed, it was just barely. I studied a lot though, although--given more time and the right materials--I would've/could've/should've studied more.
My English "Language and Composition" exam is on the 12th. I'm not worried at all though, as it's a strong subject of mine. Besides, the critical reading, grammar, and vocab stuff on the SAT was easy. I just wish I'd had more time for the essay. I hope I get a decent amount for the AP exam.

How do you think you did? I answered like 25 multiple choice, but the free response about the cars I had no idea.
My goal's a 3 which is all I need, so hopefully... Maybe...
This week's AP tests are officially over.
Did you take any this week?
If so, how do you think you did?
I took Spanish and US History this week.
Neither was particularly difficult. I feel better about History though.
Some of those AP questions were really dumb. Like the soup question. I saw Ronald Reagan there at least 3 times, and no Lincoln, Washington, or Jackson, leading me to believe that Reagan is the most important president of all time.

There was one on Jackson, I believe.
I just can't remember what it was.
Now that you mention it, there really was NOTHING on Lincoln or Washington.
You can technically argue that the first options for essays essentially had to deal with the two of them, but I don't think I mentioned Washington in the Revolutionary War essay (I was running out of time! I can't pace myself well.). :-x
I bombed the multiple choice and bullpoopted all of the free-response. Woohoo ready for a 2... :(

I felt MISERABLE after both AP Euro and US, answered maybe half the MCs, essays were mostly BS. I got a 4 on both.
AP tests grade easier than you think; it's not like they hand out grades either, but you'll probably be okay. Don't worry. =3

It also depends on the national averages that determine which composite scores are assigned to which AP grades, so yeah... >.< Thanks for the confidence/motivation though. ^_^
Anyone else take AP Bio yesterday and/or AP Psych today?
I know I bombed AP Bio.
AP Psych, on the other hand, I feel like I passed, but I didn't do as well as I wanted to do.
I took AP Bio last year and did better than I thought, but I don't think I am taking another AP class again.
AP classes are for kids who feel superior when it comes to school matters, wind up getting poopty grades in it, and still brag about being in a more advanced class.
I was forced into taking AP Calculus and found it unrealistically easy.
Probably because basic derivatives and integrals take no thinking or effort.
Bragging gets you more money, I don't see what you're complaining about.

I know what you mean, but not all of us are pretentious dicks that brag about it. Besides, I got good grades in my AP classes. Many of my classmates did as well. The way I see it, you take AP classes to look better for colleges. That's why I took them anyway.
On a side note, as it stands, I'll be taking AP US History 2 next year. Is it really that hard? Dare I ask "why" if it is?
US History is awesome, unless your teacher was a borderline commie like mine was and you need to read Howard Zinn's deranged ramblings.
But anyway, AP classes are fun now that the tests are over.

True that. I'm pretty sure that--in short--we've been doing nothing now. In Government and Politics, we watched
All the President's Men (a great movie--actually) and then had a group project to do over a long time. We might eventually watch that Frost and Nixon movie.
As for English, we're still doing work... but it's just reading a short play and some creative/easy essays.
I feel like I go to school for nothing now. It's great.

I'm actually thinking about trying for all A's next year--and therefore, (nearly) all exemptions from exams. AP Statistics with an undesirable teacher says otherwise, however... D:
I think my school does something similar though. We probably just take exams later than your school did.
