WHY ARE YOU READING THIS
because its still a bad game
I think it's charming but overrated.
I just tried to play it again a couple months ago and its still terrible
like the story is kind of cute i guess but thats literally all it has going for it.
who cares
Geez what happened.
I have a distinct memory of people on this forum basically crying for this game to come back.
I guess those people aren't posting anymore; nothing new there, I suppose.

As much as I like the game, I have to admit the amount of grinding that you have to do at certain points is pretty insane.

see i've never had this problem
i think people that say this are just absolutely poop-tier at rpgs/jrpgs
Earthbound's gameplay is pretty much identical to jrpgs that predate it by a decade.
i mean it came out the same year as final fantasy 6 and yet the gameplay is simpler than ff1

so its a positive thing that the game requires so much grinding that they had to make it easier for you?

Funny that you mention it, since it really was the story that turned me off from Persona 3. Maybe I should give it another try...

Your problem with the game according to your other post is that its gameplay is identical to RPGs made 10 years prior to its release.
What's the problem with this? Especially considering most post-1995 RPGs are complete dogpoop. Especially post-2005 RPGs. It's a genre that is extremely difficult to innovate well with.
because there was a hell of a lot of innovation between 1985 and 1995 and earthbound ignored all of that
ive never really played an earthbound game
i mean I once for a minute tried the gba one but it kinda bored me I dunno
