If you look at vol. 5 of Iwata asks Sakurai describes the roster as being huge and impressive so that 35 character roster is most likely false. Brawl Central's 48 character rumor seems to be coming true. Also, if you think about it there would be no way for a roster of 35 to exist if over 20 of them are starters. It wouldn't make sense for the starters to take up most of the roster. He says that the AC and Nintendogs franchises were too hard to design fighters from and that's why he started ATs. Animal Crosser may not be playable after all. What are your thoughts on the roster and an AC rep.
Yeah after reading that part I also thought that the chances for the AC character was very low. But hey you never know. Sakurai said he likes pranks so he can throw us a curveball ;)

I beleive that there are 48 people becSB had 12 then SSBM had 25(But 4 were clones). If you have 48 that is pratically double SSBM

And now there are like 50 of them. And what's worse, today's update said he's gonna take us through EACH MENU SELECTION!!! That interview says that Sakurai couldnn't come up with AC reps for the roster and that's the reason why ATs exist to make the fans happy that their favorite characters are atleast involved in the game play.

It's BS if you asked me. They need more female fighters along with F-Zero Reps like Krystal or Black Shadow. Those are a couple of good fighters.

I think we will get more than 35 characters. Unless Sakurai went overboard with the ATs and decided he would rather make a character an AT instead of making up a moveset for them...

Sakurai said that the full roster is big and impressive so I'd believe what Brawl Central said about their being 48-50.
