With Summer quickly approaching, I?ve decided to bring back an old reality-show game from the past (which is returning in June! Hooray! =D), and make it into a game here on the forums.
Welcome to The Mole.
Most information of the game can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mole
In this online version of the game, the rules will be slightly different, however.
Every Saturday at about 5:15 PM PST, I will hold a council with the members of the game at chat in #nsider. I will then discuss challenges and new objectives for the contestants of the game.
Almost every challenge will have a reward of some type: most likely, either exemptions or weeks added to the pot. Exemptions give players immunity from being eliminated by scoring lowest on the Quiz.
The pot contains the amount of weeks the winner, runner-up, and the Mole will have their ranks. However, the pot will not fall below four weeks, and will start with that in the beginning. For instance, if you manage to accumulate ten weeks in the pot, the winner, runner-up, and the Mole will have their ranks for fourteen weeks. Simple, right?
One of the people who sign up, either by PM or post, will be the Mole. I have already decided who the Mole is. The Mole will act as a deceiver to all in the game. Of course, throughout the game, there will be clues to who the Mole is? it?s up to you to piece them together.
At the end of each week, there will be a quiz determining who you think the Mole is, based on the information. A question could be, for instance, ?Whose name was the Mole?s under in the challenge on Week 2?? Following that question will be a list of possible answers. You must then choose one of those answers. The person with the least amount of questions correct will be eliminated from the game. If there is a tie, the person who answered the slowest will be eliminated.
If you sign up, please make sure you?ll be able to make it to chat on the scheduled day(s) and time(s). I might have to reschedule some things if this doesn?t get a lot of response. I?m going to try to get twenty-one members. PY said that if we get twenty or more members, he?ll create a rank for the winner, runner-up, and the Mole. Therefore, we need twenty members at least if we want to get this working according to plan.
After sign-ups are over, a council or two will be held, giving a lot of information and a few challenges. After that, we will have a special quiz; the special thing? well, you?ll have to play the game in order to find out.
Now that I?ve explained everything, only one question remains.

Wolf: If the time doesn't fit everyone's needs, I could switch it around a little. Of course, each meeting will take about twenty to thirty minutes, which means that you can show up halfway through. As long as you get the gist of everything, you'll be able to participate.

FYI, I'm going to try to get twenty-one (lucky number) as the amount of people who will sign up. After that, we'll do the counsel then the quiz, where five people will be eliminated. The same will happen the week after that, until we have six people left. That's when we will start eliminating people one by one, until there are three people left. Then the final quiz will commence, and I will announce who the Mole is, and who the winner is.

Mostly, yes. The clues will be mostly integrated with the challenges, and other things I may ask of members during meetings. The Mole has been assigned to sabotage the challenges, but if the Mole does it too often, then he/she may get caught easily. The Mole has to use the most utmost secrecy.

3:15 EST on a saturday is kinda ridiculous. Most people here have lives and do things besides post on NSF I hope. I can probably make it then, but I'm sure more people would come if you moved it later in the day.

I agree, it is a bad time of the day.
3 PM works for me. At 10 PM most people, including me, will be out at parties. And if you make it any earlier I'll probably still be sleeping.
Taking off of what Birdie had just said, it's going to be hard to find a time that suits everyone. We might be able to discuss it in the meeting tomorrow.
Besides, what works for easterners might not work for westerners.
The meeting begins in twenty minutes at chat. If you, for some reason, cannot go to chat or unable to make it at the exact time, don't worry;
1) That problem will be taken care of at the meeting.
2) A brief summary of what happened will be posted on the front page.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if someone who hadn't taken participation in chat and the challenges, but got all of the questions right? lol. The most anyone's gotten right so far is six, I think.
Btw, Mole has to fill out the quiz, but the results don't matter; the Mole gets an automatic ten.

Yes, at 4 PM PST.
So, you have all completed the Test. But did you any of you get a high enough score to get the extra four weeks? The answer... no. I'm sorry, but no one had the high score needed. Therefore, the extra weeks did not get added to the pot, and it remains at seven.
So, who got the highest score, and exemption?

That is not, however, the end of it. Mack. You really want that exemption, right? Well, it's yours... if you turn down my offer. Give exemption to someone else on the team, and you will earn the four weeks you failed to earn from Test. The choice is yours. You have until tomorrow at 7:00 PM PST to give me your answer.
Shortly after you give me your answer, I will send out the quiz. Two people will be eliminated, and we will be down to our final four. From that group, only one more person will be eliminated until we are left with the final three contestants. One of them will be the winner, one will be the runner-up, and one will be the Mole. Only time will tell who those three will be.[/spoiler]

That's true. I should have put that into thought, instead of attempting to prevent who I believe is the mole from sabotaging our attempts :( Oh well, I'll just try to complete the Impossible game myself :P

I mentioned perhaps doing another season (with a more carefully chosen Mole, of course) at the finale, and the response seemed positive. If I do another season, it might not be for awhile. Then again, if I can get my act together quickly, we could see the next season up in about three weeks.
