WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME

Silver and I are proud to give you our first ever attempt at creating a podcast for the site. You can listen to it HERE (http://www.nsfcd.com/podcasts/Podcast%20Episode%200%20-%20Pilot.mp3). In this episode, our pilot, we discuss upcoming forum events, E3 2010, and how we need music for the opening/ending of the podcast. We hope you enjoy, and post any comments or questions you have on it in here.

We'll also try to get more people in on this, so if you want to be included in the podcast, PM either myself or Silver about what you can do/pre-record that will make it more interesting and entertaining. We want this to be fun for everyone!

EPISODE ZERO CORRECTION: In it I say that I have never played a Half-Life game. I've actually played Half-Life Deathmatch, but I don't believe that really counts, as it's not a game in the main series.

EPISODE THREE CORRECTION: "Sleepy Room" at the end of the podcast is, for some reason, only playing at half speed. Sorry for the inconvenience. But it still sounds badass.

Yeah, the awkwardness factor was something we were highly aware of. We hope to tone it down a bit in any upcoming episodes where we'll hopefully have more people in it.

I just ordered a new mic off Amazon for...$3 (including shipping).
The mic itself cost a penny, but reviews were good.

An original one. Regarding this, NSFCD's very own ZOVISTOGRAT is currently developing the opening music for our podcast. We give our thanks to him.

An opening theme would be good.
You could also do like game reviews when there aren't any new games coming out (hearing another opinion would be nice for once). Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I was throwing around ideas for something like reviews, but we came up with the idea for this particular podcast in less than 24 hours. But for upcoming episodes, we'll definitely have special, specific segments.

This is pretty good for a first start, but there are some issues.
-Mike issues: already expounded upon
-Awkwardness: a "mediator" usually fixes this; you probably already have one chosen
-Topics: good topics in themselves, but a general outline of discussion instead of "E3, DISCUSS" would be helpful
-Transitions: moving from topic to topic could be a bit smoother; ie. using leading questions

If I become somewhat proficient at computer music this summer, I could possibly help with the development of a theme.

One thing to make it better, don't ramble about random topics, find something and stick to it.

Hi guys making the rebuttal Mace and I promised so you won't be disappointed

First off with the TF2 server I'm potentially paying for some of it. I didn't see this noted in the podcast but I guess it's been rather silent as is anyways.

I'd just like to also note that with the major complaint of the whole Area 6/NSFCD thing, see, thing is, much like the TF2 server, we didn't go out and flat-out buy a domain name because we're not going to buy a domain if it's not used. That happened with EJ and Smash R (Our fourth server) and all he ended up doing was blowing more money on it. We're only affiliated through some members, events, and those likes. It's it's own separate identity.

Our goal isn't to kill NSFCD by any means, like hell, even people who actually dislike/don't like it the site (Won't say who) don't really care and just want to see the site move forward. Sometimes you have to look at it from a "Why post on NSFCD when I have this?" direction instead overall, and furthermore, a "What is our goal our of this site while it's still standing?". In fact, this shows the wake-up call this site needs.

At any rate if you don't believe we think that, please kindly check out the thread in my member title which proves why you guys are dying as well. That was before A6.

Just also remember that it isn't impossible to pick yourself out of this gutter: OLF/etc went through a bunch of poop in it's time, maybe not as much as NSFCD, but it did. I could go higher in depth, but just remember this: At one point the roles were swapped around. OLF/etc was about to be merged with NSFCD way back in 08.

Technically it's only around half an hour long. The nonsensical stuff afterward (actually recorded beforehand, but placed after) makes it 45 minutes.

It's not because I don't like it or anything; it's because 1) I don't have access to the server to upload it to, 2) I can't e-mail it to Silver because it's too large a file raw, and 3) Goddangit, I'm lazy. Plus school poop going on. But I'll try to get something sorted out this weekend. Just keep reminding me and I'll do something. Maybe upload it to megaupload or something like that I dunno.
