We're thinking about adding a "radio" to the site, which is really an audio stream being broadcast by a "DJ", or any user playing music while connected to the server. If it sounds complicated, just basically think of it as online music. We just need a rough estimate for how many people would listen, so we can buy hosting for it. It's bandwidth-intensive on our server, so we don't want to host it on the site.

actually, no, my radio show would most likely consist of a wide range of music. Most of it will be quite...different, though.

Also, would the songs have to be edited or no? Nothingface has some good songs, but they says "motherintercourse er" quite a bit.

No, I would not use it. Radio tries to appeal to numerous people by playing a certain variety of music. This usually ends up with me enjoying only a fraction of what is played. I see no purpose to that when I can just listen to what I want at a time of my own choosing.
Though, that is just me.

As long as the autoplay is not active, or if it can be changed to not automatically play every time I visit a different webpage here.
It really all depends on what would be played, and whether or not I was in the mood for it or some of my other music.

I'm a regular member at NSider2, so I rarely ever come to this site. However, I have seen some new features being implemented here that would...entice me to possibly come back more often. A streaming radio broadcast would be awesome. However, I'd appreciate it if a variety was played instead of one genre, though I believe that was already cleared up earlier in this thread. But this sort of feature sounds interesting. If you want to, then go for it. :)
Oh, and Rock FTW. :P If a lot of that was played, you definitely have a deal.

Well we do have more people here that would actually listen to it, but he's still right about it dying after the hype ends. The hype will just last a bit longer here than it did at Outsider.

It shouldn't, since we'll have dedicated hosting, instead of Destillat hosting it from his PC...that just didn't really work out.

I think I would. Music makes everything better in my opinion. I picked the 4th option since I think I have a good taste in music and it is a good variety. A radio would be a great addition to these forums.

But seriously, a radio isn't that kind of "stupid crap" you're talking about. It's a great idea to get more ppl involved in the community, to a beat! And plus, the admins can make money from it by placing some radio ads :D

Not really. Snorkel needs to fix the Boyah server before we can even get a rough estimate, and I don't know how long that would take.
