They're essentially the same. I switched from Vista to 7, still had all the same problems. XP has more though

I find one thing that is pretty crutial that improved from vista.

Vista would use 50% or more of the physical memory in your computer to run just basic systems to keep your computer on.


Windows 7 uses only 1/10 - 2/10 of the physical memory to run basic systems. (10% - 20%)

I actually managed to get it around 30%, but it was a pain I agree. the thing they messed up is it takes more GPU for some reason. Even more than my 7 theme I had in Vista.

Vista had many hardware capability issues, was slower and a much bigger resource hog. Ontop that, Windows 7 had a epic amount of cool new features.

7 for me uses like, 40% when I first boot, but I do have a decent set of startups; you don't really notice when you rarely go over 65% of 4GB.
