I thought Naruto was gay too until I checked it out. Shippuden is actually pretty good.

That isn't completely true, lol. If you knew anything about Shippuden you'd know this. Either way, obnoxious characterization is standard in anime. It's japanese humor.

Dragon Ball Z is still the best.

Trigun was pretty sweet, but not as great as

Cowboy Bebop, which is the poop.  Seriously.  It's the poop.

FLCL was alright, but like Shorti said it's pretty short so it's not a huge investment if you don't like it.

The others on this list I never got into.  I never really liked the Gundams or Inyuyasha. 

Big O was alright though.  Kind of a Batman thing, but instead of Batman he has a giant gundam-esque robot.  And instead of Robin, he has a andriod.  Still has the butler, though.  On second thought, not too much like Batman at all.
