How Do You Pick Your Starter?

When I used to play (I don't play anymore, although I kinda wish I did for nostalgia) I would usually pick whichever one looked the coolest and they all ended up to be Fire types.

I guess I just liked the fire types. :D

Kanto: Charmander
Johto: Cyndaquil
Hoenn: Torchic
Kanto (Fire Red/Leaf Green): Charmander again
Sinnoh: I would probably pick the fire starter whichever that may be.

I started with the best Pokemon for the first few gyms, and caught the Pokemon I needed as I went along on my journey. I ended up with all three by the last gym, though.

I ALWAYS choose water! Literally, my favorite type. And another thing about that to add on, I always nickname it Skipper (cool name for a water starter) in each game! I always can get the other 2 from friends
