Sakurai could have just added some new characters and stages to Melee and the game would have sold millions of copies. Thank god he didn't. ;D ATs and Final Smashes (and online play) seem to be stacking up into what appears to be the best looking Wii game to date, in graphics and gameplay. It looks just as fast and fun as Melee. ;D This will be the first Smash Bros game I actually own. I just rented Melee. :(

Actually, originally, Super Smash Bros. 3(as it was known back when we didn't know it was brawl) was supposed to be just like melee with only online play added.

SMG will be a great game, I know I'll enjoy it etc ... but
dude..my heart belongs to SSBB...and I KNOW that, THAT is the true game
everybody yearns for.

No other game coming out this year comes close.

Go play Metroid Prime 3, that game is pretty darn close,maybe better, I'm not even a hardcore metroid fan but I bought it and I'm loving every second of it. Super Mario Galaxy will be freaking amazing if it's as good as the press says , or if it's nearly as fun as it looks.

But Recent announcements of brawl are really what made me want it the most.

Metroid is not my style.
and I Loath 1st person Shooter games.

It's hardly a shooter, you do just as much adventuring,puzzle solving, and platforming as you do shooting.  If you like Zelda, you'll like Metroid...
