my Golem won't go to the ranch, anyone else have pokemon that won't go?

Apparently if it has a HM that no one else has or can learn, it stays. But I don't know if thats true...

Well since Bibarel, my HM slave couldn't go, I guess its true.

I just looked and no I guess thats why, Golem had the same three HM's, that why Machamp went and Golem stayed
