Title: Idle Fortress 2
Post by: Kilroy on May 24, 2009, 09:32:20 AM
For those of you who haven't heard/seen yet, with the new Spy vs. Sniper update, Valve replaced the Milestone weapon system with a random drop system. Although you can still get old Milestone weapons the same way, there are no Sniper and Spy Milestones, so you MUST find their weapons via the new drop system.

So, what have people started doing?

Idling. What is idling? Well, it has been noticed that players can join a game, go AFK, and still get weapons. So, some people have started to use this new version of farming to get weapons. Here's how it works:

1) Download this (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/96284) map. It's called achievement_idle. Yes, you're supposed to be getting constantly hurt. That's so you don't screw up your Time Alive as whatever class you're idling as.

2) Create a server, the map picked doesn't matter, and make sure you have the time limit set to the max.

3) Go into the Console (~) and type in sv_lan 0, and press enter.

4) After typing in sv_lan 0, type in sv_pure 1, and press enter.

5) Now type map achievement_idle, then press enter.

6) After it finishes loading, you're done! Leave your computer be, go play some other video game, and let the "find-ems" roll in!

NOTE: If your computer is good enough, you should be able to alt+tab out of TF2 and do other things. TF2 still processes everything while minimized!

And now, here's you chance to Meet the Spectator (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLXqDEGeNn4)
