Gliders are cosmetic awards that have almost no overall changes to a kart's stats.

Swooper changes my stats. Slightly, but meh, they aren't purely cosmetic.

I unlocked a new glider today: the Paraglider.

...it is statistically identical to the Flower Glider. I'm so disappointed.

I'm waiting for the Swooper, since that wins the appearance contest for me.

It can be considered a killer app besides Super Mario 3D Land. It's really worth the buy.

There's a pretty subtle difference apparently. Parasol/Flower handles better in the sky but is slower.

Just finished Mirror. Shy Guy and Yoshi always seemed to be a big problem.

That's... interesting. But there's still only three different stat combinations among all the gliders, which means some are still identical... according to that table.
