Am I the only one that thinks they're a little awkward, or at least the movement with the d-pad? I especially get a little annoyed when I have to spin Bowser around with that darn pad.
That game was basically a "proof of concept" that N64 games could be pulled off on the DS. Yes, the technology is there, but without proper controls, it's hard to play.
If you're on the original DS Then yeah it can be pretty awful. I'm using a DSLite here and I so far find it decent. I'd rather play with the joypad but It's not the worst I've been through. You'll get use to it.
They were good enough to get all 150 stars. I might not have played it in a while, but I eventually got used to it.
Never had a problem with it personally. When I first got it around launch time in like 2004 I tried the weird "control stick" feature where you control your guy through the touch screen and it was way worse than a D-Pad.
I remember the controls being okay.
A lot better than the touch controls, anyway.
I never really had any problems with it.
it was tricky at first but I got used to it pretty quickly
Hi, guests. Why are you all so interested in this thread?
I have no problems spinning with the D-pad.
Fuck, I tried playing NSMB and I'm used to the controls on SM64DS. I had to switch the control scheme around D:
I haven't played it since using my phat, but I never noticed any issue with its controls with a D-pad.
After playing through it on the DS And being almost done (Put it down for FF4 DS And SF Command) I must say; The D Pad does feel more awkward. Granted, the N64 controller was never good, but at least that felt more natural to the game.
Still great controls.
