Just got off the phone with my dad...and he's moving back up here. To my city. That's not the part that makes me sad, because that's great news.
Well, first off, my mom and dad divorced when I was in kindergarten or first grade, and we've gone to see him every other weekend up until a year or two ago, when he moved to Osage Beach, MO, which is 3 hours away from us. Therefore, we barely ever get to see him anymore. However, we keep in contact via phone all the time. Anyways, back to the :(.
As you may imagine, he misses us like hell, but he's in a contract with a hospital down there that says if he leaves early, he has to reimburse them the money that they would have paid him, which is a load of bullpoop. He has another 6 months to go on the contract, but he's sick of it. He has no family or friends down there, and he's depressed and lonely.
Back to the call. The part that made me sad (I'm actually crying and feeling fairly depressed myself right now) was when he began crying and saying "I miss you guys...I miss you more than you will ever know."
At that point in the call, I'm getting watery-eyed.
The part that made me cry was when he said "I have no friends, no family, nothing down here. Imagine spending nearly a year of your life like that...it's hell. I miss you guys so much it hurts.", and started crying some more.
...I'm done typing, I'm crying too hard to see the screen. :(

Well, at least your father actually cares about you. Mine left before I was even half a year old, never contacts us, and doesn't even let us know any of his contact info. The most he does is pay child support fees and for some reason I get insurance from his employment in the U.S. Air Force.
