-INTRODUCTION-
Hello everyone, I am GrimTuesday.
As some of you may or may not know, I am a game designer and I am currently working on a game called Super Smash Bros. Rumble. This is a thread where you can suggest for me to add or subtract one character to/from the game.
-RULES-
-Only suggest characters to add if you have a good reason to add them-
-Only suggest characters to subtract if you have a good reason to subtract them-
-No flaming other peoples idea, everyone has their own opinion, respect that-
-Don't choose a stupid character that would never make it into a smash game (eg. Batman, Luke Skywalker, Homer Simpson, etc...)-
-Characters must have appeared on a Nintendo System to be part of this game-
-I am only taking two characters from each third party company and only one from each franchise-
-Have fun (yes this is a rule, if you don't have fun you are disobeying the rules and you shall be terminated)-

-DEMO-
Here is the demo so far, don't laugh at the graphics it was the only sprites I could find that had all of Mario's moves and stuff...
http://rapidshare.com/files/79540008/SAB_Game.exe.html
Press F1 for controls
Also note that Online does not work, I am currently trying to fix it.
Player 2's controls are not listed, but they are not important because none of his attacks do any damage.
B attacks don't deal damage, and grab damages opponents but doesn't grab them (because I couldn't find any sprites for being grabbed)
I called it Super Anime Bros. because of the stupid graphics, I just thought it would be funny (When the real game comes out it will have the same graphics as SSBM).
Cooking Mama is in it? This game is already perfect!
AHEM, Klonoa, please?
Where's the animal crosser? And Ronald McDonald? And Michael Jackson? ????
Looks good to me ;D
Needs more Stafy!!
Resident Evil Series
Leon Kennedy- He is in 2 Re games and was recently in a wii released one. Resident Evil 4 (his most recent game) won game of the year.
Kong series
Lanky Kong- He would have an extremely original moveset. He would be awesome. He has an original look. He just was realeased in a non- rare game (that one new donkey kong wii racing game) so he is therefore not a third party.

Leon is a good idea but I'm not so sure about Lanky, btw what company is Leon from?

Where's the animal crosser? And Ronald McDonald? And Michael Jackson? ????
We already have enough AC reps, and I'm not taking them out because I have a really good moveset for them. And Ronald Mcdonald was busy with the next Kingddom Hearts game and Michael was dancing away from me every time I tried to talk to him saying something about"Thriller"...
Ridley is in. It is perfect
Could you add Klonoa? He could be unique if you just did some research. He would be from the "Klonoa" series and is from Namco.
Also, add Claus. He has mechanical wings, an arm cannon, a beam sword, and PSI. That could make an awesome moveset and add to the anti-hero list.
Add vector and shadow to the sonic series list...
Vector is an excellent fighter and shadow could be similar to sonic but with a more uniqe moveset!

Shadow should not be similar to Sonic. He should be slightly slower, but stronger. He would use Chaos Control for his attacks, like this:
Standard B: Chaos Spear: Shadow throws a Chaos Spear at opponents.
Side B: Chaos Snap: If an enemy is a couple of feet away (in game), Shadow teleports in front of them. He will kick once, and if you continue tapping B, he will deliver a barrage of up to five kicks. If the enemy is close, he will automatically go to the kicks.
Up B: Chaos Teleportation: Shadow uses Chaos Control to teleport in the direction of your choosing. It does not do damage.
Down B: Chaos Burst: Shadow hides in space-time for a few seconds. He reappears in an explosion. The explosion is about the same size as the explosion of an Electrode. It does high damage and sends enemies flying. However, it is hard to get the timing right and a difficult move to use often. The attack is similar to Metaknight's Down B, but with an attack. Shadow cannot be attacked when he is hiding in space-time.
Final Smash: Chaos Control: Shadow takes out a Chaos Emerald and in a flash, time stops for all other characters. Shadow can then attack at his leisure. When Shadow hits an enemy, they will receive damage, but no knockback.
His standard attacks could consist of a variety of punches, kicks, and perhaps a toned-down Spin Dash.
I suggest Classic Mario.
I'm still working on his moveset, but I'm sure it will be completed in the near future. ;)

I'm still working on his moveset, but I'm sure it will be completed in the near future. ;)
Standard B: Koopa Shell: A Koopa Shell appears and Classic Mario kicks it forward. If it hits a wall, it will ricochet back to him and can hit him.
Side B: Fire Flower: Classic Mario gets a Fire Flower and becomes Fire Mario. He can shoot fireballs for a limited amount of time. Fireballs can be shot rapid fire, but do less damage than normal Mario's fireballs.
Up B: Cape Feather: Classic Mario gets a Cape Feather, he spins upward flying, similar to Diddy Kong's Up B. He spins as he flies, and deals damage to anyone he touches. He cannot stay in flight forever, and will fall eventually.
Down B: Star: Classic Mario gets a star and is invulnerable for a short amount of time.
Final Smash: Mega Mario: Classic Mario turns into a giant version of himself. He can deal damage by touching or stomping enemies. Works best in areas where he can squeeze into spaces. He will get stuck for a while if he tries to go somewhere to small for him. All his attacks are powered up.
Sorry, if it's not what you wanted, Shujinco. There's not enough items for me to think up a good moveset.

Was Shadow that good that you need Vector? Sigh...
Vector the Crocodile
Standard B: Exploding Bubblegum: Vector chews some gum and shoots it at enemies. It explodes, dealing good damage and knockback.
Side B: Chomp: Vector lunges forward and bites anyone in front of him. It does good damagem but not so great on knockback.
Up B: Bubblegum Rise: Similar to Peach's Parasol. Vector blows a bubble from bubble gum and rises into the air. He rises about the distance of Roy's Up B. Then, he slowly descends. The bubble will eventually pop if you don't reach ground in time.
Down B: Walkman: Vector turns up the volume on his Walkman. This creates a sound barrier that knocks enemies away when they touch it, dealing some damage. The barrier lasts for several seconds before fading.
Final Smash: Chaotix Recital: Charmy and Espio appear and they do their Team Blast from Sonic Heroes. Vector sings loudly, while Charmy plays the drums and Espio plays his shamisen. The concert deals around seven percent damage for every second it is effect, and also sends enemies back a little bit. It lasts about 15 seconds. As a finale, they play louder and send any nearby enemies flying. Farther away enemies receive twenty percent damage.
There. You happy, Brandon?

I suggest Classic Mario.
I'm still working on his moveset, but I'm sure it will be completed in the near future.
No....\/B would be waay to cheap...make it this:
\/B: Tanooki: Transforms into tanooki and pounds the ground! ;D
Or this:
Down B: Hammer Bros. Suit: Classic Mario dons the Hammer Bros. Suit, allowing him to throw hammers for a limited time.
Also, did you read the Shadow moveset I made?
ya! Now make a vector one!

I was figuring that his Down B would make him not move.
But other than that...yeah! Pretty much what I had in mind! ;D
That's sort of what I meant too. Sorry. I thought it was kind of implied that invulnerability moves make your character immobile. Sorry for not clearing that up in the moveset.
Well, I'm happy! ;D
Good, 'cause that was your Christmas present.
But I wanted that book full of naked fat women for my birthday! :(
I couldve thought of a better one:
B: Music Blast: Turns up music loud and anyone in a certain radius is hit...
B>: Great Bite: He chomps forward with great force!
B^: Bubblegum rise: Blows a big bubble and rises, surprise!
B\/: Charmy and espio attack: Carmy and espio appear on each side and unleash a sting and swipe from a kunai in both directions each
FS: Chaotix Recital: The three get together and play a really loud song and it parylyzes all in a certain radius for twice as long as sheild break!
Wow...now that I looked at yours closer, ours are almost identical...

GIVE ME THAT BOOK OF FAT NAKED WOMEN!
Oh, add Espio!
Here's a moveset!
Standard B: Shuriken: Espio throws shuriken. There are three different kinds: Normal, Giant, and Exploding. Normal ones just do damage. Giant ones are twice as powerful. Exploding ones explode on contact.
Side B: Leaf Swirl: Espio sends a small tornado at the foe. The tornado will blow them away, but only does small damage.
Up B: Chameleon Tongue: Espio shoots his tongue out in the direction of your choice. Works as a tether recovery. The tongue is about the length of Link's hookshot in Melee. You control the direction in which it is fired. It can be used to grab opponents. When he grabs them, he can use another of his moves without missing.
Down B: Whirl Dash: Espio does a Spin Jump surrounded by a tornado. Does decent damage with good knockback.
Final Smash: Chroma-Camo: Espio becomes invisible and nothing seems to happen. Suddenly, all over the stage shuriken ( all three variants), kunai, whirl dashes, leaf swirls and other attacks appear and hit enemies. Espio appears, transparent, but unseen by enemies, and you have control over him. Enemies can't hit you, but you can hit them as much as you want.

Rules please - I am only having one character from each third party series, and I'm not gonna take away Sonic to put in Shadow am I?

Could you add Klonoa? He could be unique if you just did some research. He would be from the "Klonoa" series and is from Namco.
Also, add Claus. He has mechanical wings, an arm cannon, a beam sword, and PSI. That could make an awesome moveset and add to the anti-hero list.
I can't decide if I should add Klonoa or Isaac... I'll make a poll about it!
Also, I am very familiar with the Mother games and it was very hard deciding who to put in, I finally decided on Lucas, Ness and Paula, I'll make a poll about this matter as well...

Sigurd from Fire Emblem 4. Only out in Japan it is one of the longest, most popular, and downright best Fire Emblem game ever made. Sigurd is the first main lord in the game. Since he is basically THE main lord in the most popular Fire Emblem game
He is actually the Father of the Final main Lord. This game spans 2 generations, but Sigurd is most popular.
he deserves a spot.
Roy should be taken out of the roster for quite a few of the following reasons:
1. He is the least popular Lord in the entire series.
2. He is the least powerful Lord in the entire series.
3. He is in the least popular game in the entire series.
4. When SSBM was released this game was the first Fire Emblem game of a console system and many were skeptical of buying it. So for advertising purposes in Japan and to promote Fire Emblem in the US Roy was put into the game. They said they would release the game he is in to us, but due to time restraints and outdated graphics they went with the next game and had a cameo of Roy in it. :| SOOO, Roy should not have been in the game in the first place.
5. BETTER CHOICES ARE POSSIBLE!

Sigurd defiantly. Lyn was not even in Fire Emblem 6 which has Roy. It is set after our first game that has Lyn. Lyn was only in Fire Emblem 7 to explain where Hector's baby girl came from. (She is a good character in Fire Emblem 6) The game we have is just a prequel. While Sigurd is the real deal. :)
My bad about Roy, I just have say that in every Fire Emblem post on this board because... well fanboys are everywhere.

Take out: Cooking Mama: No offense, but that's like adding a Sim from Simcity or Prof. Kawashima... just something to put up for a "non-game" game X_X

Put in: Rayman: Only mascot from AFTER the Mario Sonic wars to actually REMAIN good. Not to mention Micael Ancel is a huge Miyamoto fan. Besides, I'm sure more people would want him than Pac-Man (or so real Nsider said)
I don't know why I like rayman/want him in, but I just do for some reason.

Leon is a good idea but I'm not so sure about Lanky, btw what company is Leon from?

what's a hack?
Never mind. I'll just say Sonic doesn't deserve it! I'd rather have Shadow. Sonic is too cliche. He's in every fanboy's roster. Shadow deserves the spotlight for once.
actually I'm very much against sonic :| I think that the idea of third party characters is stupid, but I hat to put them in just to make everyone happy... AND I CAN'T WAIT TO USE KOITSU AND PHOENIX WRIGHT!

hmmm.... I think I'll stick with Phoenix Wright, not because he is more important but because he would have a weirder and cooler moveset... That's why Sakurai put Game & Watch and stuff in melee

Cooking Mama has more games than Ice Climbers and I think she'd have a unique moveset :|
About Rayman, I'm not gonna take out Pacman for Rayman! Pacman is Namco's MASCOT meaning he is the most important character they own. That's just like Link instead of Mario or Ecco the Dolphin instead of Sonic!

Alright I know you said no to lanky kong but he's like one of the most popular minimal appearance kongs. Or you could put in Manky kong. (same as lanky but a bad guy) he appeared in one of the donkey kong country games. What if I make a Lanky/Manky moveset.
Oooohh, idea. Why don't you make a poll like you keep doing with different characters

.......
AND PHOENIX WRIGHT!? This awesome. I suggest Cress from Tales of Phantasia.
Lucario should be in as playable. Why?
1. He had the highest amount of votes on the smashboards.
2. He's the most popular Pokemon of the 4th gen.
3. He has many possibilities for movesets.
4. ???
5. PROFIT!
The last two were jokes, but you get my point. XD

XD

You must have gotten the beta version then... They changed their minds and made Lucario playable. ;D

B Moves, Final Smash, Taunt and Entrance
Standard B: Aura Sphere
Side B: Metal Claw
Down B: Ancientpower
Up B: Sky Uppercut
Final Smash: Lucario becomes enveloped in aura, and runs into other players really fast, causing a lot of damage.
Taunt: He crosses his arms and gives a "Hmmph..."
Entrance: He throws an Aura Sphere at the ground, then lands where it hit.
Will that work? :P

Lets see...
Aura Sphere - How will that differ from Mewtwo's Shadow Ball?
Metal Claw - So that will basically just be Lucario swiping forward with his claw?
Ancient Power - What does that do?
Sky Uppercut - No need for explanation for this one.
Final Smash - Cool, will he still be able to attack when he is like this?
Taunt - Cool.
Entrance - Cool.
So yeah...
Aren't pokemon the easiest to come up with moves for?

The Aura Sphere won't be so slow and will go in a straight line rather than go up and down, and you can either charge it, or fire several small ones in succession. Metal claw can be used up to five times in one move combo. The final smash, he will be able to use other moves, and the power of them will be amplified.

That would take it down to 60... maybe remove 3-5 more, and then it would be good. I'll need to look at the list of current characters to see who I think should be removed.

Toad. (Replace with Geno or Bowser Jr.) - I agree
Kamek (He's a superfluous.) - I agree, I put him in because Yoshi was the only rep of the Yoshi series
Jimmy T. I Agree
Vaati (Do we really need him?) - Yes, he is probably the only Zelda Rep left
Dark Samus (:|) - We need another Metroid Rep and Dark Samus is very popular
Sami - I agree, I just love Advance Wars :P
Mr. Resetti (Oh, a monty mole.) - He isn't really important but I thought of really good ideas for him and stuff
Cooking Mama (She's a chef. I know she might be unique, but she's a chef.) - I agree, I just wanted to add some spice to the smash series (pun intended)
Bayonette (Meh.) - I agree
Pheonix Wright (Um...) Congratulations you have unlocked all the characters... OBJECTION! A New Challenger is approaching... Same as Resetti lol

Well if this is the suggestion thread...
I say add Dixie Kong if you can still add to the DK series.
If you can't add anymore then leave it as it is. It's perfectly fine with 3.
Maybe you could replace Resetti with Animal Crosser?
Oh and please, please, please don't replace Toad. :)
Little Mac Punchout series.
He is the character you use in punchout.
He is small but very fats and strong.
He faces many large opponents.
Was Highly requested for Brawl until he was announced as an AT.
Punchout was very popular and fun.
He has a simple design, so it wouldn't be to hard to make him.
If needed I could create a moveset.

Tell me if you need more than just B moves, entrance, taunt, and FS.
B- tap to do one weak punch but if you hold you do a flurry of them.
B</>- Pulls both arms back and lunges forward.
B^-tap once for one uppercut yap twice to do a stronger follow up.
BV- Hits the groung with both arms knockingback and hurting all around him.
Taunt: A big black screen appears with a picture of his trainer behind him massging his shoulders and mac wiping himself with a wet rag with dialogue below the picture
entrance: followed in by trainer and ref. (the trainer and ref leave before the battle starts)
FS Ultimate combination: Starts with a flurry of strong punches, follows up with a sky rocketing uppercut, jumps in the air and double fist the opponent back to the ground, and lands much faster than the opponent and goes where he/she/it is going to fall and raises fist in the air and the opponent's stomach presses into the fist. Standard B:
Side B: Bull Rush: Mac takes a few steps back then rushes forward and ends with a powerful uppercut.
Up B: Star Uppercut: Mac jumps up, hitting enemies with an uppercut.
Down B: Super Spin Punch: Mac spins around at high speed with both arms outstretched. Then he finishes with a haymaker
Final Smash: Star Uppercut Combo: Mac first delivers a blow to stun nearby enemies. If he misses the first attack, the whole move will fail. After stunning an opponent, he will smash them into the air and and leap up with a Star Uppercut barrage.
Entrance: Little Mac jumps onto the stage.
Taunt: Doc Louis appears and says "One, Two, One Two Punch, Mac!"
Taunt 2: Doc appears and says "Join the Nintendo fun Club today!"
Taunt 3: Doc appears and massages Mac's soldiers.
Remove Sami. Instead have Will or Jake, or Sturm. :o

Um... please read the rules "Onlly suggest characters if you have a good reason to put them in"
also Mr. Resetti has a really good moveset an stuff I really don't want to take him out, sorry :'(
I'm surprised you didn't add Animal Crosser though. He is the most important character in the game.
And as for Dixie, she's the 4th most important character in the DK series after DK, Diddy, and K. Rool. I said that if you did have more space, you could consider adding her. If not, it's fine.
I still suggest Animal Crosser.

he/she is generic, give me a moveset and a picture and I might put him/her in

You forgot SSBB but yay.
Roy, he was in melee
and could have a diffrent move set.
siegfried.
Powerful, but slow.
Alright, I'm going to suggest a character.
Be prepared t5o be amazed, amused, and posibly angerd, by...
MR. NAMCO!
A completely original character, PERFECTLY representing Namco by having a moveset designed ECPECIALLY to reporesent the old school gaming series that is Namco!

I need more of an explanation than that... And Roy isn't important to the Fire Emblem series, I replaced him with Sigurd

I'm serious!
What better way to represent namco?
Would you rather have *cough* pac-man *cough*, or * cough * Dig Dug Dude *cough*?
What better way to represent THAT then to have a variety of EVERYTHING, instead of just one character with stuff from thier ONE game, amirite?
