Hey everyone! This is the thread where you will find all the info you need to know about all the confirmed characters from Super Smash Bros. Brawl! The info will mainly be the information you find on the dojo due to spoiling the game for some.

So let's get started.

VETERANS:
The Veteran fighters of Super Smash Bros. Brawl are the ones that have previously been sent out to battle in either of the original two Super Smash Bros. games.  This time around, it seems they have new abilities that they did not have before!

MARIO

Nintendo's main man is once again Fighter #1 for this meeting of the Brothers. Having appeared in over 200 different video games, Mario is the most prolific and most well known Nintendo character of all, and, beyond that, of all video games in general. He holds down the role of the measuring stick for the Smash Bros. series.

Special Moves:

B: Fireball

Mario shoots a fireball out of his hand just like he does when he grabs a fire flower in the original Mario Bros.

Down+B: F.L.U.D.D

This new attack takes over Mario's previous Down+B move "Mario Tornado". The F.L.U.D.D. has a different effect though... It doesn't do any damage at all! All it does is push your enemies with a stream of water. This sounds pretty useful but I'm not so sure myself.

Final Smash: Mario Finale

So basically, once Mario obtains the Smash Ball, his eyes turn into flames. Then he shoots a giant Kamehameha... or I mean blast of energy from his hands. It's almost sure to hit.

LINK

The Hero of Hyrule, Link is another fighter who's been with the Smash Bros. franchise from the very beginning. This particular Link, though, is new to the series – he's the version of the hero who most recently starred in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Special Moves:
Side+B: Gale Boomerang

Previously, Link had just a normal wimpy Boomerang that... Well I doubt anybody actually used it. This time the Gale Boomerang will add alot more strategy to Link's gameplay. The Gale Boomerang not only inflicts damage to whoever it hits, but it also pulls them back to Link! This could be really fun.

B: Hero's Bow

It looks like that this hasn't changed at all from the previous games. Hopefully if they remove Young Link as many people are saying, he will be able to switch between different arrows that have different effects on the enemy.

Down+B: Bombs

This hasn't changed either. Link grabs a bomb from some random place and then throws it at his enemies. So in other words... BOOM!

Up+B: Spin Attack

So nothing new here as well. Except for the the fact that this time around the spin can be charged. Link uses this move to spin around in a circle with his sword cutting everything near him. It can also be used to get back up on the stage when you are close to falling.

Final Smash: Triforce Slash

Link charges at the enemy and repeatably slashes them to death while they are trapped in the middle of a Triforce. Wait, are there any rules for this game? Because that sounds pretty cheap to me.

KIRBY

One of the first four fighters revealed to star in the Brawl, Kirby is also the least visibly changed of any returning character. But it makes sense that his basic form has stayed the same, because his real visual overhaul will come into play only after he's used his signature attack – swallowing his foes, and copying their powers (along with, usually, some article of their clothing).

Special Moves:
B: Inhale

Kirby sucks in his enemy to copy their B special move. Kirby takes on a look close to what the enemy looks like.

Side+B: Hammer

Kirby takes out his hammer and swings away at everyone in front of him.

Up+B: Final Cutter

Kirby jumps up into the air and slams a sword into the ground causing a small shockwave.

Final Smash: Cook Kirby

Kirby gets his cooking skills on by pulling out a boiling pot of... well I don't know but it must be hot because Kirby throws his enemies in the scorching pot. Once he's done, items come out along with whoever went in the pot. Better get something for those burns.

PIKACHU

The world's most popular Pokemon was only barely known back when the first Smash Bros. game debuted, having first appeared himself in the original Pocket Monsters RPGs only a few months prior to its release – but over the years, Pikachu has established himself as a true icon and seasoned fighting veteran.

Final Smash: Volt Tackle

Pikachu turns into a giant ball of electricity and bounces around the stage. This moves extremely fast so try to not speed off the stage.

Special Moves:
B: Thunder Jolt

Pikachu sends out a small shock that will send foes flying. It can move along walls, ceilings, and of course the floor when used.

FOX

Fast, frantic and furry, the ace Arwing pilot Fox McCloud has received a more significant graphical overhaul than many of his fellow returning fighters. In Melee, his look was more realistic – here in Brawl, he's been adapted into something more closely resembling his look from Star Fox Command. His new enormous boots don't seem to have slowed him down, though, as Fox is expected to remain one of the quickest fighters in the roster

Special Moves:
Down+B: Reflector

Fox also had this move in the previous games. This is more of a defense move than an offensive. Any ranged attack that hits Fox while the reflector is active will bounch right back at whoever shot at him.

B: Blaster

Just a normal laser gun that fires very rapidly. It may be weak, but all that small damage adds up.

Up+B: Fire Fox

Fox bursts into flames and skyrockets into the air causing damage to whoever is in his way.

Side+B: Fox Illusion

Fox quickly dashes forward and knocks back anyone he hits.

Final Smash: Landmaster

So Fox drops a giant tank onto the field that flips and fires around the stage. So basically, get the hell away from it when it drops.

SAMUS

The cybernetic bounty hunter Samus Aran is set to return to the fight, fresh off her adventures in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Samus returns as badass as ever. Equipped with a wide selection of weapons, Samus will indeed be one of my returning favorites.

Special Moves:
B: Charge Shot

Samus charges her power beam to unleash a devastating blow towards the foe. The longer it is held the more powerful it is.

Final Smash: Zero Laser

Samus charges up a huge beam from her gun, and fires it straight at anyone in front of her. After this attack, however, her suit is destroyed. Sorry guys, she's still wearing clothes under it. Once her suit is detroyed she transforms into Zero Suit Samus who is much quicker then Samus was.

ZELDA

Like her faithful hero Link, Princess Zelda of the Kingdom of Hyrule has also been updated into a graphical style that more matches her look from Twilight Princess. Her new model is vastly improved over her appearance from Melee.

SHIEK

Rest easy, ninja fans. The stealth Sheikah assassin is back. After over four months, the Smash Bros. Dojo finally confirmed the return of another Veteran fighter, and it's Sheik. This version of Zelda's transformed form has been updated to be more consistent with the graphical style of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It's a little odd, since the Zelda in that game never transformed into Sheik throughout that adventure. But it's consistent now for Brawl, as Sheik is once again serving as the Down + B transformation for the Hyrulian princess.

Special Moves:
B: Needle Storm

Shiek pulls out sharp needles and throws them straight ahead. The longer this attack is held the stronger it will be.

Final Smash: (Zelda & Shiek)

Zelda (or shiek) pulls out a bow and shoots out a strong beam of light that sends the enemy soaring across the battlefield.

BOWSER

King Bowser Koopa, leader of the Koopa Klan. This middle-aged mutant wizard turtle has been terrorizing the Mushroom Kingdom and its heroes the Mario Brothers for now over 20 years. He's addicted to kidnapping Princess Peach – having done so in the majority of games in which he's appeared – even though he's always foiled, in the end, by the mighty red-capped plumber.

Special Moves:
B: Fire Breath

Bowser, like a dragon, breaths out fire and burns all his foes into a crisp.

Final Smash: Giga Bowser Transformation

Once Bowser gets the smash ball, he transforms into Giga Bowser. Giga Bowser is much much stronger then Bowser and is able to take down everyone around him easily. But seriously... It seems a little unbalanced.

DONKEY KONG (DK)

The leader of the bunch, you know him well. He's finally back to kick some tail. Nintendo's first major mascot, Donkey Kong was also the first hulking heavyweight in the Smash series, arriving as one of the original eight unlocked fighters back on the N64. His abilities are based largely on his large size and brute strength.

Special Moves:
Down+ B: Hand Slap

DK starts slamming his hands onto the ground and cause a small earthquake.

Final Smash: Konga Beat

From Donkey Konga, DK brings out his Bongos to destroy his foes with the power of... music? Seriously? Couldn't they think of something better? Like something to do with bananas? Donkey Konga sucked anyway.

YOSHI

Mario's trusted riding mount, Yoshi's a dynamic dinosaur with an endless appetite for enemies. His long tongue and egg-laying abilities made him a capable sidekick for Nintendo's plumber.

Final Smash: Super Dragon

Yoshi grows wings and breaths fire on all the smashers once he obtains the smash ball. He also seems to fly around the screen quickly.

PEACH

The constant damsel in distress, Princess Peach Toadstool has been Mario's love interest and impetus for adventure since 1985. Here in Brawl, her look has received a significant upgrade, as there's now much more detail in her dress

Special Moves:
B: Toad

Peach holds toad in front of her to defend against projectiles.

Side+B: Peach Bomber

Peach slams her sweet ass into the enemy sending them flying.

Final Smash: Peach Blossom

Peach turns the border into a bunch of flowers and puts everyone near her to sleep. Peaches also spawn to regain health.

ICE CLIMBERS

Nana and Popo are a pair of mountain climbing adventurers whose only game was the 1985 NES launch title, Ice Climber. this duo was introduced as a playable pair in Smash Bros. Melee. They were one of the most unique character choices in that game, as controlling two fighters at once was an innovative addition – though you primarily control Popo, and Nana follows behind as an AI partner. That appears to be the case again for Brawl, though these first screens indicate that the Climbers may be more frigidly powerful than before.

Special Moves:
Down+B: Blizzard

The Climbers send ice flying out of their hands to freeze the opponent for a quick second.

Final Smash: Iceberg

The Ice Climbers clap their hands together and engulf the whole stage into a frozen ice paradise. It deals damage to opponents and freezes them too!

#1
NEWCOMERS:

PIT

Pit is the hero of Angel Land, and leader of the army serving the goddess Palutena. He's also likely the most in-demand, sought-after, constantly-requested old-school Nintendo mascot ever. His special moves draw on his wings and magic bow, which can separate itself into two short swords for close combat fighting.

Special Moves:
B: Palutena Arrow

This move is similar to Link's Hero's Bow, but this one is a little more special. You can curve the arrow that is fired freely for a better chance of accuracy.

Up+B: Wings of Icarus

This is Pit's move that allows him to soar through the air to return back to the arena. You are able to control where Pit flies, but he will fall after flying for too long.

Final Smash: Palutena's Army

Pit summons the Goddess of Light, Palutena, to bring forth alot of flying Centurions who will raid the arena and attack everyone else besides Pit

WARIO

Wario is Nintendo's everyman, even moreso than Mario in some cases. He's been both hero and villain, both active playable character and mini-game host. Here in Brawl, though, he's representing the popular mini-game-focused series WarioWare. His movements, attack style and general mannerisms on the Smash Bros. battlefield all seem to be quirky, kooky and unpredictable, just like the twitchy two-second microgames from that series, and he's set to ride his giant motorcycle from those games right into the middle of his fights.

Special Moves:
Side+B: Wario Chopper

Wario jumps on his Motorcycle from the Warioware series to ram all of his opponents off the stage. Or himself... Depends on your luck.

Down+B: Wario Waft

Wario holds the power of gas. This move allows him to fart on the battlefield. The longer this move is unactive, the more powerful it will be when you use it.

Final Smash: Wario-Man

Warrior puts on the tights and gains strength, speed, and the ability to fly. Riding his bike while in this form will most likely cause you to run off the edge.

Alternate Costume: Overalls Wario

ZERO SUIT SAMUS

In the original NES Metroid, players who could complete the adventure start to finish in under three hours were treated to the first appearance of Samus removed from her Power Suit – which was quite a shock to early players in 1987, because no one initially knew that she was actually a woman in there. Samus out of her armor has been a controversial addition to the Brawl, because it's been revealed that she enters the battle forcibly after normal, armored Samus Aran unleashes her Zero Laser Final Smash attack. It's unknown whether or not the transformation is permanent.

Special Moves:
B: Paralyzer

Samus paralyzes her foe so he is inactive for a short period of time. It looks to be similar to Mewtwo's "disable" in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Side+B: Plasma Whip

Samus uses her plasma whip to slap the enemy silly. This looks like it will be a move that I will use alot.

Up+B: Plasma Wire

Samus uses her Plasma Whip to grab her opponents and pull them towards her. It can also be used to grab onto ledges.

IKE

The Fire Emblem franchise was unknown in the States at the time of Melee's release, making fighters Marth and Roy – both originally from Japan-only games – unknown as well. But the series has now seen several installments released worldwide, and the latest of these locally is Path of Radiance on the GameCube. Its hero, Ike, wields the vicious golden blade Ragnell, and enters into the Smash Bros. lineup with intimidating resolve.

Special Moves:
Up+B: Aether

Ike throws his sword up into the air, jumps up to catch it, and slams it into the enemy on the ground. This move looks very similar to Kirby's cutter attack from Super Smash Bros. Melee.

B: Eruption

Ike charges his sword and then unleashes it to create a giant fiery explosion. So is Ike replacing Roy? Only time will tell.

Final Smash: Great Aether

Ike swings his sword and launches his foe in the air, slices his foe in midair and slams him hard on the ground causing a huge shockwave. CAN YOU SAY "PWNAGE"?

POKEMON TRAINER

Monster mad fans the world over have been setting out to catch 'em all for over a decade, and finally representing the human character avatar of those adventures is the Pokemon Trainer. But the Trainer isn't the fighter here – instead, he stands in the background of the stage and issues commands while his three monsters (Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard) do the active battling.

Special Moves:
Down+B: Pokemon Change

This move allows the Pokemon Trainer to shift between his Pokemon, allowing him to develop new moves with the newly summoned Pokemon.

Squirtle
Up+B: Waterfall

Squirtle rides a self-created wave to crush his enemies with water...? Ow?

Side+B: Withdraw

Squirtle hides in his shell... or is he really? He shoots water from inside his shell and slides all over the ground.

Ivysaur
B: Bullet Seed

Ivysaur shoots seeds like a machine gun out of the plant on his back causing fast damage.

Up+B: Vine Whip

Ivysaur uses the vines from his body to grab on a ledge, or possibly attack someone... hmm.

Charizard
B: Flamethrower

Charizard breathes flaming fiery fire out of his mouth. Wait, hasn't Bowser already covered this area?

Side+B: Rock Smash

Charizard picks up a boulder with relative ease. Makes crushing rocks seem like such a breeze. He throws the rock at someone basically.

Final Smash: Triple Finish

It's super effective! All three of the pokemon use their strongest attack to blast a beam of Fire, Water, and Grass! Wait... Wouldn't the water put out the fire? And wouldn't the fire burn up the grass? And wouldn't the grass absorb the water? I'm confuzzled.

DIDDY KONG

Donkey Kong's little buddy Diddy first burst onto the scene when he burst out a barrel in Donkey Kong Country. He became the big ape's tag-team partner throughout that Rare adventure, then headlined the sequel himself one year later.

Special Moves:
B: Peanut Popper

Diddy uses his pistol made out of wood to fire peanuts. If you hold down the B button it will be more powerful, but if you hold it too long the pistol will explode. The peanuts that come out will also be able to restore health!

Up+B: Rocketbarrel Boost

Diddy puts on his Jetpack from Donkey Kong 64 to fly around the stage. Wow! Monkey go fast!

Final Smash: Rocketbarrel Barrage

Diddy turns into a crazed chimp when he puts on his jetpack and shoots out exploding peanuts... wtf? Well you can eat the peanuts after you're done shooting atleast.

META KNIGHT

One of the most enigmatic characters in the Kirby series, Meta Knight is set to reiterate his sense of personal ambiguity in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Is he a bad guy? Is he a good guy? His airship, the Halberd, has been seen in videos being used as the base of operations for the villainous Subspace Army, but Meta Knight himself has yet to be officially connected to that group.

Special Moves:
B: Mach Tornado

Meta Knight spins around to create a big tornado. Looks to work just like Mario Tornado.

Side+B: Triple Dash

Meta Knight dashes for a short distance three times. I think this could be useful to get back up on the stage if you run out of jumps.

Up+B: Shuttle Loop

Meta Knight takes Marth's old up special move and slices everything directly in front of him, and above him.

Down+B: Dimensional Cape

Meta Knight covers himself with his cape to reflect enemy attacks.

Final Smash: Galaxia Darkness

Meta Knight smacks someone with his cape and engulfs the stage into total darkness, slashing at most everyone on the stage.

SOLID SNAKE

Hideo Kojima, game designer for Konami, has long been a fan of the Smash Bros. franchise. He's also long been a friend of Smash game director Masahiro Sakurai, and apparently begged his pal to include his signature creation in Brawl – Solid Snake.Snake's moveset is based largely on using explosives. Missiles, grenades, even a rocket launcher and buried mines – if it's military, and it blows up, it's part of Snake's arsenal.

Special Moves:
Side+B: Remote Missle

Snake shoots a missle that you are able to control. Kind of like Ness' PK Thunder.

B: Hand Grenade

Snake throws a grenade that goes boom. BOOM I SAY!

Up+B: Cypher

Snake floats up by grabbing onto one of these machines. Not very creative are we?  ???

Final Smash: Grenade Launcher

When Snake grabs the smash ball he calls in a chopper to bring him up into the sky and start shooting explosives all throughout the stage. You have 12 shots so use them wisely.

LUCAS

Hailing from the Mother series (which American gamers know better as EarthBound) Lucas is set to take the stage as psychic fighter, much like his franchise compatriot Ness from the last two Smash games.

Special Moves:
Side+B: PK Fire

*sigh* it's a shame to see that Lucas doesn't have his own original movesets... But yeah it's just basically like Ness' PK Fire except it explodes...

B: PK Freeze

This is like the only original special move Lucas has. Even though it is very similar to Ness' old move. Except this freezes... Oh exciting.

Up+B: PK Thunder

Again, same move that Ness had. Nothing new. Same thing. Just basically use it for long ranged attacks and to get yourself back up on the stage by hitting yourself with it.

Down+B: PSI Magnet

SAME AS NESS' MOVE! Although it looks like you will only be able to use it in front of you.

Final Smash: PK Starstorm

OMG ITZ TEH Y2K! Lucas makes giant meteors smash the stage.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

Sonic's his name, and speed is his game! Sonic the Hedgehog is the second third-party cross-over character to join the Brawl, entering the Super Smash series from the House of SEGA. He's been the most requested, most wished-for character to become a playable fighter Sonic is, expectedly, a pure speed character. He's entered into the Smash universe with a moveset based on his spinning and dashing attacks from the classic Sonic series games, and can roll up in a ball to rocket across the fighting arenas and bring the pain to distant enemies.

Special Moves:
Side+B: Spin Dash

Sonic curls into his world famous ball and starts spinning really fast. He is also able to jump and repeatably attack his foe in mid-air. The attack is stronger when charged

Down+B: Spin Charge

Sonic charges his ball attack and quickly rams into anything in his path while he zooms across the stage.

Up+B: Spring Jump

A spring from the Sonic the Hedgehog games appear below Sonic as it rises him high into the sky. Other people can get on the Spring as well.

Final Smash: Super Sonic

Sonic takes the smash ball and turns into Super Saiyan, err Super Sonic. Is it just me or are there alot of Dragon Ball Z elements in this game? So is the power of the Chaos Emeralds in the Smash Ball? Well that would explain some. Sonic transforms into Super Sonic and flies around the stage smashing everyone he runs into.

KING DEDEDE

The Kirby franchise trio is complete. Confirmed to be joining Kirby and Meta Knight today as a playable Brawler, and fighting under the Dream Land banner, is King Dedede – the pudgy, pompous penguin who's been a core villain of the Kirby series since the very beginning. He enters into the arena with his signature attitude, being carried onto the screen lazily by a group of Waddle Dees, and also brings along his massive wooden hammer.

Special Moves:
Up+B: Super Dedede Jump

King Dedede jumps up into the air and slams hard into the ground. He is vulnerable once hitting the ground though.

Side+B: Waddle Dee Toss

Dedede throws a Waddle Dee at his enemy. After they are thrown they waddle around the stage for awhile. There's also a chance that instead of Waddle Dee, a Waddle Doo or Gordo will appear.

Down+B: Jet Hammer

Dedede pulls out a jet attached to his hammer and swings with a really hard force. You can charge it to deal more damage. You can also walk around while it's charging.

Final Smash: Waddle Dee Army

Waddle Dee's swarm and attack everyone.

PIKMIN & OLIMAR

Captain Olimar and his army of Pikmin are joining the Brawl in playable form. The diminutive Captain of Hocotate Freight has been one of the most requested additions for this edition of the Smash series, following the popularity of his appearances in both the original Pikmin in 2001, and Pikmin 2 in 2004. And so he has appeared, wielding, as expected, an endless supply of Pikmin warriors as his primary weapons.

Special Moves:
B: Pikmin Pluck

Olimar pulls Pikmin out of the ground to aid him in the Brawl.

Side+B: Pikmin Throw

Olimar throws Pikmin at the foe. The Pikmin thrown determines what kind of damage it will deliver.

Up+B: Pikmin Chain

All the Pikmin hang on to eachother to bring themselves an Olimar back to the battlefield.

Down+B: Pikmin Order

Brings all the Pikmin that have been seperated from you back to Olimar to deliver more throws.

#2
RUMORED CHARACTERS
Well alot of characters have been added to the Brawl, but alot of fans are wanting their favorite Nintendo characters to join the fight as well. The following characters are ones that haven't been comfirmed in any way but are on the most wanted list.

GENO

Oh god Geno better be in Brawl. He is my personal most wanted character as for many other long time Nintendo fans. He was so awesome in Super Mario RPG and has alot of supporting evidence for appearing in Brawl. Geno was basically a puppet who was brought to life. He uses magic to fight. (Geno Beam, Geno Whirl, etc)

Things that raise chances:
He's Badass
Square Enix (Who own the rights to Geno) is friendly with Nintendo
He is in the top 5 for most wanted characters in Japan as shown by an official poll (3/5 have been comfirmed)
Being Second-party as appossed to third increases his chances.
He has alot of possibilities for attacks

Things that decrease chances:
He is owned by Square Enix

LUCARIO

Lucario is seen as very popular in the eyes of Pokemaniacs around the world. He also starred in one of the Pokemon movies. Lucario is a Steel/Fighting Pokemon who has the ability "Aura Sphere". We have alot of Pokemon in the game so far, adding Lucario may not be neccessary since we already have alot of characters representing the Pokemon series

Things that increase chances:
A very well known Pokemon
Will be the first Fourth-Gen playable Pokemon
Has alot of potential attacks
Has not been comfirmed to be in a Pokeball

Things that decrease chances:
Too many Pokemon reps already

ANIMAL CROSSER

From Animal Crossing, comes the Animal Crosser! Basically the main character of the series, comes equipped with many items such as a Fishing Pole, Shovel, and Axe. That's about it, I really can't see how the Animal Crosser could fight since it is so peaceful. We don't have a rep for Animal Crossing so I would imagine that it would be in somehow.

Things that increase chances:

There is currently no comfirmed Animal Crossing rep
The Animal Crossing stage shows that Animal Crossing has been noticed
So does the Mr. Resseti trophy

Things that decrease chances:
I can't really see the Animal Crosser fighting
There aren't really many attacks that it could have

StarWindWizard7

Sheesh, that must of took  a while to make...

Wow, thanks for this Geno, this was much needed ;) *gives imaginary karma*  :P

...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...

Java

That looks like it took a looooong time. Good job!  :)

One thing I wanted to point out was that Link's "Spin Attack" does have a difference. It can be charged up.

If you wanted to you could also put Meta Knight's Special Attacks (confirmed in the Four Special Move Types update) Sonic's Final Smash and Peach's Final Smash.

I don't think I'll put that in until I get more info on it.  :-\
