SMASHDOWN --Season 5-- **SSBM TOURNAMENT**

Welcome to Season 5 of Super Smash Bros. SMASHDOWN

Hello Nsider Forums, I am previously known as MYSTIC-LINK on the now defunct Nintendo Nsider Forums.

What I bring you is an interactive, yet CPU controlled Tournament, all hosted and done by me. But wait! There's more to it than just what it seems. If you're still interested, read below:

What is The Game?

It's a CPU Tournament, in which users select from the roster of 24 characters to compete against one another. Users can only select 1 character, and the characters are first come, first serve. How interactivity is involved, is that each character has their own indivdual Credit Rating, in which the users can use to purchase Rule Alterations to turn the tide of the battle.


So How Does it Work?

2 characters will battle each other on a Random stage for 4 minutes long, both CPUs being at Lv 9, with no items. Each character will go through this 10 times within a span of a few weeks, matching up against other opponents from their division (will be explained).
How the scoring goes, is that a regular win is 2 points, a loss is 0 points, and a Sudden Death Loss is 1 point, and the SD winner will take 2 points. This will go on for 10 games each character, in which the final placements will decide who faces who in the Playoffs.

What are the Playoffs?

The Playoffs are where the Elimination Rounds begin. After the first 10 game placements have been decided, the Top 8 characters from each division will face off against their following opponents:

1st v.s 8th
2nd v.s 7th
3rd v.s 6th
4th v.s 5th

Anyone below 8th place after the initial 10 games is out of Playoff contention.

The Battle rules are the same as in the regular season, except an SD loss will count as an entire loss instead, and the characters will be facing the same opponent in a best of 5 series. Whoever's the first to win 3 matches will advance to the next round.

Credit Point System

Now things get interesting. As I said, each character will have an individual amount of Credit Points for the user to use and purchase Rule Alterations that can effect the Battle. These include such things as :

Item Rarity - Damage Ratio - Stage Selection - Increase/Decrease Self-Destruct Point - Lv1 Tag Team Slaves - etcetc

Each has their own price, but come at quite a cost. In order to accumulate CP during the season, you need to win your games. A win will give you 100CP, a loss gives 0CP, and an SD loss gives 50CP.

Characters & Divisions

Characters are placed in divisions according randomly. Characters in one divison will NOT face characters in the other division during the season. The only time characters from different divisions will meet is during the Playoff FINALS.

Link will NOT participate this season due to being the Champion of Smashdown 4. Instead, Ganondorf has returned, but at Lv 7 this time.


And so that is the selectable roster, in which users can pick one to watch over as the Tournament rolls on.

The colors don't matter all too much, as the characters you choose are CPU controlled anyway, and each character can only be selected once. If I make videos of each passing round, maybe then 'll consider using the colors asked for.
