Wait, does the opening video disprove that roster queensaki posted? And it seems the Famitsu article counted Zelda/Shiek and Samus/ZSS as one character, so it still counts as 23 starters. Finally, I'm worried about Snake's and Sonic's sole appearance as 3rd parties. :-/


UPDATE: According to brawlcentral.com, Marth is unlocked by beating normal Classic Mode. So is Ness unlockable, too? Maybe, like Jigglypuff, easily unlocked characters are included in the opening video, with possible exceptions in Snake and Sonic.

That doesn't seem to hold true for recent pictures... maybe it's customizable? This isn't the only one with a black background in Multiplayer.

When you choose random, the character you're going to play as will be revealed when you selct the stage and the screen turns black when you either select a character or random.
