11 year old kid exposed to Contra for the first time.
Obviously he didn't like it. Obviously. I've noticed kids really don't like the old games. I've played some with my younger cousins, and the most common complaints are the lack of visuals/sound and they're too difficult.
So, no surprises there. It just always amazes me that kids find old games so difficult. I mean, we grew up on this insanely difficult stuff and we did just fine. XD

My nephews HATE old games, they can't beat the second level of Pacman :D they use up the big dots too fast, greedy little brats.

Though they love Galalga. Won't stop playing it on my Wii.

The new games of today are just the old ones of tomorrow, 20 years from now an 11 year old will sit down in front of Call of Duty or Halo and say the exact same things.

That said, I love old games. And with most games these days just being remakes of classics, it's worth it to play the old stuff.

They can only go as far as World 2 in SMB3, but they still enjoy it :D

I <3 SMB3, But it usually = 2 players for me to beat the game.

I was getting to world 3 when I was four... was I that good or do you just suck that bad? XD

I've been trying to introduce my little cousins to some older games. They love Super Bomberman 2.
