I've left my DS on for a few days now (closed, of course) and it still hasn't turned off. It usually turns off if I leave it on this long. 0.0

Eventually, yes.
Not for a while, however.
I left mine in sleep for 2 weeks, and it turned from Green light to Red light, not out of betteries.
That doesn't seem to unique to me. Mine takes a while to die. Maybe your battery is really good still
