Garchomp usage

I've noticed that a lot of people tend to have Garchomp in their party at the Wi-fi battle tower.
I went through 5 matches in a row and most of them were Garchomps.
Is he top tier in Dragon-type or something?

He is one of the three non-legendary Uber tiered Pokemon. Garchomp is so beastly it can tear through pretty much anything. :x

108 Base Speed
At least 80 in every other stat.

It's that Swords Dance + Outrage + Persim Berry combo that always worries me.
I have plenty of counters for it, but I just don't know how to mix it in.

Yeah, the only counter is a Full Attack based Ice Shard Weaville, which sometimes doesn't work.

An ice type attack pretty much kills it though.

You can't switch one in without it being outsped and killed.

Yache chomp defined uber, because it guaranteed a kill every match. Plus the defenses made it the only bulky sweeper prior to Latias' introduction.

So yeah top tier dragon.

That would involve so much prediction. Switching in means raped. Him coming in on you after you knock one out means rape. You have few chances.

Sash wouldn't work, since it'd be switching in on SR most of the time.

If only Latias could outspeed Garchomp with Stealth Rock in play, then all it would take is one Draco Meteor to wipe it out. Unless it misses, Latias is screwed.

Also, it possible for a Salamence to outspeed a Garchomp?

Latias can outspeed Garchomp... Base 110 v base 102.
Latias Dragon Pulse running 108 spA and timid v. standard garchomp:
282 Atk vs 206 Def & 358 HP (90 Base Power): 266 - 314 (74.30% - 87.71%)
So it really wouldn't need draco meteor.
SR does little to garchomp.

Jolly Mence can outspeed Adamant Garchomp, also non-max speed Garchomp can be outsped by max speed if they're both adamant.
