I'm not saying like "ZOMG ALL TEH CLONES R REMOVED" I'm just saying that Sakurai said some characters may be leaving in his journal awhile back.
It has already been stated that not all the characters will be returning. Sadly, at this point, I think he is talking about Ness...

I'm thinking that Lucas is everything Ness was and more. So I wouldn't care if he wasn't in.
