Anyways, as some of you may know, I went to a Mars Volta concert last night.
It. Was. Epic.
Aside from getting slightly lost on my way to the club, and having to stand outside in the freezing cold for over an hour, I had a freakin' awesome time.
Once everyone funneled into the Beaumont Club, we had to wait a good 30 minutes or more while the sound techs set up. It was long and boring, but I patiently waited.
All of a sudden, they came out! Cedric and Omar! The crowd went nuts.
Less than a minute after the members came out and got ready, they launched into The Haunt of Roulette Dares, and the entire crowd SURGED forward to the stage, and started moshing.
I was all like "AAAAAAAAA I'M TRYING TO RECORD ;_;", but it was still really exhilirating at the same time. Yay.
I don't remember the exact order of songs, but I'll list the ones I can remember right now.
The Haunt of Roulette Dares, Goliath, Wax Simulacra, Day of the Baphomets (intercourse ing epic), Tetragrammaton (OVER 20 MINUTES LONG), Drunkship of Lanterns, and a few new songs. And Viscera Eyes, Meccamputechture, and...I can't remember any others right now.
I got 1.8GB worth of videos before my camera died in the middle of Drunkship of Lanterns, making me a very sad panda. I also took 4 or 5 pictures. :P
I'll be uploading the videos to Youtube soon, and the pics to Photobucket soon as well.
I just wish I could have recorded Day of the Baphomets, it was really, really, really awesome.
Other notes:
At one point, Cedric said: "Could you do me a huge favor please? Could you quit smoking for like, the next 2 hours? I'll be your best friend forever if you do. Thanks."
Also, "Sorry for not really doing my thing tonight, this carpet is like Astroturf, it's really weird."
His 'thing' is him getting all crazy and dancing all over the place while he's not singing. It's awesome to watch.

I've just never seen a metal guitarist use a Les Paul. They always use abnormal looking guitars like Xplorers and Flying V's.
This is just one of the few times I've seen a metal guitarist use a Les Paul.

I know, my pictures sucked. I wasn't close enough to the stage to really get any good pics, and if I turn my flash off, it's near impossible to get a clear pic. :(
