My girlfriend just found and caught a Shiny Absol in her Pokemon Black.
I've never even seen a shiny, except that one time I found a Shiny Rattata before I could use Pokeballs. D:
But, I'm happy for her.
Topic: Your legit shiny finds. Did you capture them?
Note: Red Gyarados does not count.
Damn, good for her. That's a nice shiny to have, though I'm not sure how much more common Absol is in BW than in the past. Uhhh let's see
Firered: Psyduck in Berry Forest
Firered: Geodude in Mt. Ember (had just one pokeball, IT WORKED.)
Firered: Gastly in Pokemon Tower. I had no pokeballs so I couldn't catch it, sadly. I'm still upset about that.
Sapphire: Swablu, which is a pretty gold Altaria now. It looks nice even though I don't really love Altaria.
Gold: Slowpoke
Diamond: Starly (HOW RARE)
Firered: Dratini in Safari Zone (easily the luckiest one I caught, since they always flee in the Safari Zone)
Firered: Zubat in Altering Cave (ehh)
I have reason to believe that there's a greater chance of finding them in Firered version, though I'm sure it's 1/8192 no matter what. It's an interesting trend though, especially because I haven't even played Firered quite that much when compared to other games.
The only legitimate shiny I've ever found was a shiny Seedot.
Usually if I want a shiny for something I'm gonna use to battle or whatever I'll just pokesav it.

Lucky, unless you're like Wally who instantly gets the rarest pokemon the moment he walks into the grass while normal people get nothing but zigzagoons.

You don't remember Wally?
Should I mention she found her Absol in a double battle?

I honestly don't think that affects anything.
She almost killed it when she overkilled the other Pokemon.

Still doesn't make it any more of an accomplishment.
Use pokemon A to attack non-shiny
For pokemon B's turn, use an item. Like a potion on something with full health, since that will waste a turn anyway even if the item fails
Foolproof.
I have two and I don't remember what they were. I haven't touched my pokemon games in a while.
Gold: Noctowl
LeafGreen: Pidgey
And I got a legit shiny Slugma from my neighbour because he didn't play anymore.

And how did you react to finding that shiny?
I thought it was neat at first.
It's sitting in one of my PC boxes somewhere. I don't even remember what game it's in now. Probably in Diamond.
I once got a red gyarados from lake of rage, poop was so cash.

I thought everyone used Game Sharks in 2001
I didn't. :(
I've never even seen a wild shiny, much less caught one.

Those were the days. Game Shark sucks nowadays though.

I remember my old friend gave me a shiny Suicune.
I still use it whenever I play Stadium 2. Good times. ;__;
