One day (today) Drezford and I decided to find out the maximum percent damage that can be dished out to a single Pokemon. Our test choices, which we quickly settled upon, were Heatran as the attacker and Shedinja as the defender; Heatran has Flash Fire and Shedinja has Wonder Guard.

To heighten the damage given, Sunny Day was put into effect, and Heatran was given a +6 in special attack and Shedinja was docked -6 in special defense. We gave Heatran a Modest nature and Shedinja a Lax one. Heatran was given 252 EVs in special attack and Shedinja was given 0 special defense IVs. The levels of the two Pokemon were 100 and 1, respectively.

Heatran, holding Choice Specs, was to attack Shedinja with Overheat, the most powerful fire attack in its arsenal.

We first calculated the projected damage in Metalkid's Damage Calculator, which yielded a range of 1,719,500.00% - 2,023,000.00%.

Then we logged onto Shoddy, and the following battle occurred.

Shedinja lost 352791000% of its health.

As it turns out, Shedinja receives not 2 million in damage but an amazing 353 million. Perhaps Metalkid turns inaccurate at the higher levels of calculations.

We tried with other Pokemon (Bulbasaur) but they did not yield such significant results; one (only) received 2751% damage.

EDIT: Apparently Power Trick Rollout Shuckle can deal damage much greater than the aforementioned, but it is extremely hard to pull off. Zang and Drezford should have more results soon.

Anyway, I think Specs Heatran using overheat with FF activated in Sun +6 with -6 Sp. Def on Parasect 0 Sp. Def IV 0 HP IV Dry Skin ability = more.

Level on Parasect = 1.

It MAY do more damage, but as far as percentages go, because Shedinja has 1Hp period, it would do more in the percentage range.
