Yes, I've been in Canada for about an two hours (my dad's old business in Chicago brough us over to their office for a little bit), Paris France due to a connecting flight, and Spain for a trip with my mom and Uncle as a gift for my Bar Mitzvah. Spain was a very nice place...if a tad odd on how they deal with people asking for directions.

Yes, you can fix it, but as a GIMP user you should know how o.0 In both PS and GIMP it's pretty much the first thing you learn to do, from my experience.
