Full games on the DS range in size from as low as 16MB to 128MB (there is ONE game announced to be 256MB too). With 512MB of system memory, you can hold quite a few games well if they're the smaller ones.
Full games on the Wii can be up to 4,800MB (4.7GB) with a minimum most likely being over 512MB.
16MB:
Super Mario 64 DS
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
Tetris DS
32MB:
WarioWare Touched!
Advance Wars Dual Strike
Animal Crossing Wild World
Phoenix Wright 2
64MB:
Phoenix Wright 1
Apollo Justice (Japanese version, I doubt that translation will shrink it)
Sonic Rush (Japanese version, although US is likely the same)
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time
Kirby Squeak Squad
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
128MB:
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Japanese version
Rune Factory
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates
Uh... don't ask why I know these. It's not like I have a
certain folder called "DS Roms" >_>
Phantom Hourglass? I haven't even found a rom of it but my guess is either 64MB or 128MB, probably 128.

But not only does Zelda store a LOT of data, but it's all in 3D. There's no sprites.

Look at the menu. Name one thing there that is actually 3D.
Also, the fonts are 2D.
The cut scene at the beginning with the storyboard probably is sprites, with exception of the last one which is a texture of that 3D sign the pirate holds.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl actually have many things cleverly applied to reduce file size. I know that for one thing, many 3D models for overworld objects are repeatedly used.
