I like the Prime series but I think a new 2d one would be nice...
Give meh moar Metroids.
But I love Prime so frigging much...
What is it that you hate about Prime anyway? I mean, Super Metroid was awesome, but it wasn't that awesome.

Okay then,
Personally, I thought that a first person perspective works well with Metroid, especally since a
Third person camera can get mucked up in the more claustrophobic areas
Something tells me it won't happen - I don't know why D:
It's gonna be interesting to see what the next Metroid game will be, now that Corruption's done and over with (so to speak).
I still haven't bought it though. Shameful, yes.
Okaaaay...so WHY do the controls and perspective suck? I thought the Prime series was one of Nintendo's best. Great transition, and quite unique.
But, on the topic, remember Metroid Dread? We never heard anything about it...but, in Corruption, a random Space Pirate log says, "Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing completion." Whether this means something or is just an Easter Egg, I don't know, but we'll see in time.
I have only played Metroid Prime out of the Metroid Prime games, but I thought it was awesome, and I can't wait to play Corruption. So far, I think Nintendo has done a great job with 3D Metroid titles. ;)
But I also agree that it would be cool to see some new 2D Metroid games. I think that instead of continuing 3D Metroid on the DS, Nintendo should make a 2D one. Hunters is pretty fun because it has online play, but it'd be awesome to have a new 2D Metroid title on the DS as well. :)
I love the Prime series, but the 2D games I love just as much. I fear that the prevalence of 3D may drive all 2D gaming into extinction unfortunately. The developers just consider 2D to be too obsolete to mess with anymore it seems. PS - anyone know the latest news on DREAD ?
