Well it turns out the thing I've been dreading has finally occured. I tried using some sort of protection but through some off chance, despite my best efforts, it happened. This is going to change my hole life as well as my perspective on it.
It was pretty early in the night, I took my shovel up the hill and found a spot next to the peach tree. It had been raining all night so the ground was pretty wet. Now we've got this black clay under the dirt up here, go more than a few inches in and it's sticks to you. I'd dug about a one foot hole down, did my business and covered it up with the surrounding dirt.
Now this is when everything hit the fan.
On my way down I found my shoes were hopelessly covered around the soles of my shoes with the stuff. Bloody finland. I tried scraping it off but to no avail. No scraping, prying or rubbing can get it off.
Anyone here know how to get clay off shoes without ruining the shoes?
If anyone makes a joke about "when everything hit the fan" and the preceding talk of dirt, it better be good.
*eats peach*
:-X
*pukes*
Try scraping them.

But really, I do have clay on my shoes.
I can't get this stuff off either.
No plumbing in Finland?
Why did you crap in a hole anyway? Were you camping or something?

I wasn't crapping in a hole. When I said "did my business" I meant I was burying something.
I can tell though how you could get that mixed up though.

Yeah I have red clay where I live. Try getting some sort of cleaner and use that, but I doubt that it will all come off. And avoid that stuff in the future.

Pssshaw, like that'll ever happen. ::)
No, I tried protecting what I was carrying by wrapping it in a towel. I totally forget about my feet in the process.

I have an idea... try letting the clay dry, then hit the shoe. You shouldn't damage the shoe, and get rid of the clay...

I completely agree with this certain NSF users post that I have just now quoted because this is what I was going to say for my answer but since somebody else already said it I decided to just quote that user since that user already expressed what I was going to convey. What I have just said about what I have just quoted that the user that I quoted said is the truth that I quoted it for.
But for real that's what I thought at first.
