Not sure, never really read it.
But the movie PWNS so much! Althou a 4 1/2 hour movie, it's scary at pretty much EVERY turn!
The Stand isn't short, but it's his best book, bar none.
I can't say I know if it is short, but THE SHINING, is an excellent read.

It's good, but not his best.
