Title: Do you call black people African-Americans?
Post by: Pokesamrus on December 08, 2007, 01:51:32 PM
It's stupid, really. We find it more offensive being called african-americans because now you're just a white guy thinking just because we are black we are ultra-sensitive and we have to be called african-americans, so we won't be offended. BLACK IS NOT OFFENSIVE.

Black people. Black people. BLACK PEOPLE.

I don't really care, none of my friends are black anyway. But if I am talking about someone, I just say "black".

Occasionally.  Not very often though.

When ever it fits in the sentence, though.

But, never that one racial slur, though.  I hate that word.

I don't and it really annoys me that people are picky about retarded things like that. If anything, African-American should be the insult rather than black. Calling them black is a physical observation while calling them African-American seems like saying the individual is from Africa.

If I know someone is african-american I'll refer to them as such, otherwise I'll use black or even more appropriately describe them in other ways than by their skin colour alone.

Ha. I know someone who said "Most black people (he was from the ghetto and was referring to that) couldn't even point to Africa on a map"

There could be some truth, but not as bad as white people (the trashy ones). Lol "is europe a country?" (Search youtube, some white chick was one are you smarter then a 5th grader)

No, white people stereotype us as always shouting racists.

Don't use a derogatory term, say the n word, and we won't yell at you for being racist.

No, it's not playing it safe. It's insulting us Cockasian.

Only black people can say that word.

Hoorah for double-standards.

No, I put the "say the n word" using say in the form as "here's an example".

Only trashy gansta wannabes who are far from gangsta and don't know what the hood is like use the n word, plus it's not as bad when a black guy, who isn't racist against blacks, to say it as a white guy, who a whole freaking lot of them are racist against black people, to say it.
