Title: Action Wiiplay
Post by: bluaki on December 22, 2007, 10:55:32 AM
Does anybody know ANYTHING about the Wii Action Replay? All I know is that it's supposedly coming out early 2008.
I want to know if it just boots from the disc every time you use it or if it actually modifies something on the Wii itself. If the latter, I probably won't buy it :-X

...I want to be able to play import games, copy save data that isn't meant to be copied, and a few other things :(

Yeah, I THINK it has a Freeloader on it and a way to copy data directly to SD cards.

If you buy it to hack, don't use it online, k? >:(

I never do use it online.
The point of online is to compete with other people. Cheating online ruins the entire point.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is doing everything in their power to stop things like Action Replay from being useable on the Wii.  I know that the original 3.0 update for the Wii would brick systems (making the Wii unusable) if specific Mod Chips were detected.

I heard that they even made the GameCube Action Replay unusable, but I don't know if that's actually true or not...

Yes, the Gamecube Action replay cannot work on updated Wiis, it just shows a disc read error.
Also, Action Wiiplay was originally intended to come out in mid- to late-2007 but was delayed further because of the Wii 3.0 update. I dunno what in the world they could do to work around it though.

I personally hope that Datel can get past that soon, so they can update their own fixes to the Wii updates.

Nintendo has been know to blocking proudcuts not made by them, if you have a Gamecube AR it won't work if you have the newest update.

Oh yeah the way around it http://www.wiisworld.com/wii-news/freeloader-and-action-replay-work-on-wii.html.

That's outdated.
It doesn't say any way around it, that just was made before Nintendo added the block. Look at the newest comments.

???? I used a gamecube action replay on my wii and it worked fine. :S I actually HAD to use it on my wii due to the fact my GCN has a broken reset button.  :-\ Weird...

PS: It is rumored to believe that the action wiiplay comes out on... Feb... 8th... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
