Okay, whoever can solve this first gets a cookie. :P
You are in a dungeon, and you come to two guardians guarding two doors. One of these doors is safe while the other leads directly to a dark room where you will fall into a pit of spikes, and then the room will flood with water that has been mixed with oil, and a fire will start and the whole room will blow up. You want to avoid the dangerous room, so you have to find out from the guardians which door is safe. However, one guardian always lies while the other one always tells the truth. Each of the guardians gave one statement each:
Guardian 1: The other guardian always lies.
Guardian 2: The other guardian will tell you that door 2 leads to the room of peril.
It is now up to you to find out which door is safe.
You may now begin straining you mi- I mean thinking about this problem. :)
I also forgot to mention: You must give the correct thinking process along with the answer for your answer to qualify. :P
This problem is impossible. we need more information. :)
Isn't this just another form of that one about computers?
Because you ask the first guard which door is safe, if he says Door 2, he is lying, therefore making door 1 the correct door, because we don't know if the second guard is lying or not :O
door 1 FTW

Door 2.
1st Guardian is lying, 2nd Guardian is telling the truth in that the other one will lie.

Oh, don't say that. There's a very good explanation that will lead to the answer that only I know, until you can figure it out, then you would know the explanation, as well. :D

no... he opened the SCARY DOOR!
I GOT IT!
Door 2 is safe.
say the first guard is lying. that means the other guard is telling the truth in saying:
QuoteThe other guardian will tell you that door 2 leads to the room of peril.
which means guard 1 will lie by saying door 2 is bad, meaning door 1 is actually the bad door.
________________________________________________
But, say guard 1 is telling the truth. so guard 2 is lying by saying
QuoteThe other guardian will tell you that door 2 leads to the room of peril.
guard 1, being truthful, will say door 1 is the good one. but guard 2 would be lying about that and say the opposite of what he knows the other guard would say.
either way, you know that the first door is correct.
cookie please. :)

Ask one guardian what door the other guardian will tell you to go through. Whichever one he says, go to the opposite one.
