I put mixed types because I like hip hop, some rap like 2pac, and rock. But rock sucks nowadays, so I listen to hip hop mostly. alternative is also good, The Editors are a great band.

You should replace techno with electronica, which is a much broader term.  Techno is only one type of electronica; there's also house, trance, hardcore, dnb, lounge, ambient, minimal, etc.

Of those, classical, although my favorite is probably old 50's-60's jazz quintet type stuff. Or whatever you would call artists like Beirut and Andrew Bird. Or whiskey rock.

YO YO YO HOS kinds of songs may suck, but Jebus, you only want kid friendly music? I'm listening to Ted Nugent's Stranglehold right now. One of the best songs and guitar solos ever, but oh wait! It contains the evil B-word and it's about sex! OH DEAR!

Definitely Rock. Although i'm not a fan of Alt or Punk like Green Day or The Killers, i'll listen to Grunge and Indie.
