My little brother installed the EVE-online trial. Well, it's over, so he uninstalls it. While it's being uninstalled, random files that have NOTHING to do with Eve are listed as being deleted. I freak out about this, and try to X the box out, but ALL of the options are greyed out.
I run and unplug the computer, but... it's too late.
ALL of our iTunes songs are gone. My little brother's files are gone. There may be even MORE that's gone.
The question is, this must have been intentional. But how? Why would a successful company want to delete our data? Can we sue for this? I'm downright mad that they take vengance on you for uninstalling Eve.
I want answers. Maybe I'm ignorant, but this seems like a set-up to me.
You got haxored.

I really don't care, but my Dad is gonna FREAK OUT AND BITCH TO NO END.
Why? My gay little brother is gonna go crying to him becasuse his LEGO DIGITAL DESIGNER SETS WERE DELETED! Now he's gonna cry to my dad and I'll probably be banned from the internets or something. >:(
well i don't know :-\
sounds like a the thing you bought was a viruse and was collecting data as it was on you computer.
then when it was being unistaled, it deleted the data it collected....
i don't know of any thing worth doing :(

The thing is, it's a HUGE company... sorta, and they could lose a LOT of money if I brought this to the world's attention... hehehe... bringing Eve down...
To see it, it's at Eve-Online.com. It's a pretty decent game, I don't know why they'd want to destroy anyone's memory. All of it's replacable except for my little brother's Lego creations, which is what's gonna be revealed to my Dad.
Luckily, I'm the only one who knows that Eve did it... >.>

I e-mailed them twice.
Wondering what happened the first time, then realized it wasn't a glitch and then threatened to sue. Hopefully, they'll take me seriously.
You unplugged the computer while it was still running instead of doing CTRL ALT Delete? You intercourse ed your data up, so you're SOL and JWF.

kk.
Hope it works.
We don't have that much of a problem except for my little brother's files he's whining about.
Again, I'm the only one who knows it's Eve's fault.

If your dad would ban you from the internet because your brother is being a whiny ninny, then I suggest you find a better place to live.
wow, that really sucks.us
curse those hackers and their viruses! >:(
no, you can't sue. you have absolutely no proof that the EVE online trial did that. in fact, it most likely did not, and it was something else you downloaded that wormed (maybe literally) it's way into the EVE files.
