Now, before I share I want to make it clear that I do not intend to steal anyone's idea or fabricate some weird story just to make everyone run to their wii and try it. I have named this move the Homing Ground Pound, though you can call it whatever you'd like. I skimmed the instruction manual and it didn't say anything about this little trick, and the game hasn't explained anything about the move, so I think it's just an extra trick to use on enemies that isn't extremely useful, just cool. Here's how to do it: (I suggest trying it on a character in the observatory, such as Rosalina) First, know that you must be a fairly good distance above the enemy. A regular jump usually won't work, so try a sideflip or triple flip and be no more than a few yards away from the enemy. If your high enough above your target, quickly shake the wii mote to spin mid-air and immediately after press the Z button. It must be done fairly quickly. If you are successful, Mario will flip in the air before doing the pound slightly longer than a regular ground pound. Then, he should home onto your target. This move can be done anywhere, but will only home onto an enemy if you are high enough above it and close enough to it. It's a cool trick, but nothing that will prove extremely useful. If you watch the move from the right view, you can actually see Mario do a slanted Ground Pound and nail the enemy. But don't attempt it from ridiculous positions, or it won't work. Try it out, and see if you can learn anything new about this strange manuever.
figured that out myself...and yes, a normal jump will do it.
You aren't the first to find out about it, but it is cool.
yeah..this had been discovered before but it is quite awesome :)
Yeah, I've known it for a while. It's great for Mandibugs.
