Title: Pac-Man last 3rd party playable?
Post by: Hero_Of_Time on January 04, 2008, 02:39:16 PM
I know that most don't want Pac-Man over Sora, Geno, Megaman, or others but I do feel that Pac-Man holds the best shot at being the last 3rd party character. I'll explain why in this thread.

1) Pac-Man just had a game come out as a tribute to the creator's retirement

Yes, I know this holds little value when picking a character to be playable but it does help a little bit. It being for a retirement adds a bit more value to it like Game & Watch being in for the creator's death. Its a way to remember the great faces of Nintendo. What better way than put it in with so many great faces? It says that Pac-Man and the creator will forever live in the memories of Nintendo reps and employees.

2) Namco is basically Nintendo's best friend

More so than Bandai, Sega, and other such companies. Pac-Man did appear in one of the Mario Karts (super circuit was it?) so that says seeing Pac-Man in a game with other Nintendo mains is possible which ups the chances a lot. Pac-Man would fit in so easily and not feel forced like many others would.

3) Would get older gamers to play Brawl

Pac-Man when released was a huge huge hit. Many of the people who played Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man have since stopped video games for numerous reasons and putting Pac-Man in Brawl would draw them back to video games and is just a good marketing strategy for Nintendo and Namco.

4) Creative moveset just for Pac-Man

Yeah, due to his games Pac-Man could have an easily unique moveset. Based on my knowledge of Megaman (which, I admit, isn't much vv; ), he'd have more of a Samus-clone moveset. I could see him having the standard punches but mixed with the ghosts, pellets, fruits, and other stuff items from his games.

5) Music would be simple as well

There's two main choices for music one being "Pac-Man fever" and the other the music from his arcade games. Both were loved in their day and retro gamers would love to see it in to fit the Pac-Man mood I'm sure.

..yeah a rush job as I gotta go but...enjoy. xD I'll edit it later.

Mega Man wouldn't be a Samus clone, but yeah. Although Sakurai said they were adding more 3rd parties, so he may not be the last. Finally, Bandai and Namco are the same company now.

That really isn't as good of as a name as Namco-Bandai.

After all Namco ACQUIRED Bandai, not the other way around.

I don't know why... maybe for alphabetical order? Although that doesn't exist in Japan. XP

Namco good friends with Nintendo...then why'd they sell out Soul Calibur 3 to PS2 only when Cube sold the most SC2's?

I think the only three third parties have a chance of nabbing the final spot:
Megaman, Bomberman, and Pac-Man

in that order

Pac-Man for Brawl? I don't think so.

First because he only knows to eat, only that, Kirby wins him big time.
I would prefer a Tales Series character........or Klonoa.

Actually, since Pac-Man came first he sorta gets that award. Also, it was pretty evident you want a Tales character based on the sig. No prob with that tho.

Pac-Man was in Mario Kart Arcade GP and GP2. But they were made by Namco.
