Title: Being a Guitar Hero in '08
Post by: Mario583 on January 04, 2008, 04:57:26 PM
Lock up your mom: According to a rumor destined to be published in the next issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine (according to the Neogaf forum), there may be four Guitar Hero games in the works for 2008.

Guitar Hero 4, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, and 2 others may be on the way.

If this turns out to be true. it  leads to speculation that downloadable content might no longer be the Guitar Hero game plan.

And how many GH games will this make all together? I plan on buying 3. But if 4's already on the way. I might just wait.

I look forward to GH4 (as always)...but GH Aerosmith? That's retarded. It appeals to only Aerosmith fans. I like a few Aerosmith songs, but I would get bored to death of playing an entire game of their songs.

The developers probably just haven't been able to get the rights to do so from the remaining band members and their agents, just like they haven't for AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.

Awesome. I'm confused by this Guitar Hero Aerosmith thing, though. GHIV sounds promising, hopefully revival of Clive Winston? Please. ;_;

I predicted this too. Which is weird...

Also, Guitar Hero Guns N' Roses, plz?

No offense, but I hate that logic. Whenever a new game comes out, and there's a risk of it only being on newer systems, people always use the argument that the game started on "such-and-such" console...but take a minute to think about how stupid that logic is. If games only remained on the consoles they were originally released for, we'd still be playing Mario, Zelda, etc on NES. We never would have had the 3D MGS or FF games, and tons of other series would have been ended before they even began. I feel your pain. You payed for something that you might now have no use for...but take a minute to think about how little sense it makes to say that a game should be released on a system just because it originated there. :|

Maybe he wants an extra controller? That's all I can think of. The game is something like $80 or $90 with one guitar if I'm not mistaken...and then if you add an extra guitar and tally up the tax, it's probably about $150. Eh...really that's all I can suggest. :|

ok, I don't care if activison releases it for other consoles, I agree that it should be for other consoles, but, they'd lose a lot of money if they didn't release it for PS2 because the GH fanbase is the most prominent on that console.

I don't believe that. If it's coming for Wii and 360, I doubt they'll need a ps2 version. I'm surprised they even made one for Legends of Rock. Don't expect them to keep it up.

They can't get the rights to AC/DC songs and Led Zeppelin songs because of heavy copyrights made in the 60's and 70's.

Four games in one or two years? Jesus Christ.

Whoever thinks Aerosmith isn't good enough for their own game is wrong. Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, Rocks, and Draw The Line are four kickass albums that would be great for a Guitar Hero game. But as much as I love Aerosmith, a Guitar Hero game with only Aerosmith may not be that good of an idea...

Eh. I'd prefer a game that focuses on the 60s or 70s like folks have stated above. They owe us that for making a game called "Legends Of Rock" that had music from AFI, Slipknot, and The Killers on it.

Or even better: Guitar Hero: Southern Hellraising Edition. Containing some of the best blues and southern rock songs ever, IE, Lynyrd Skynyrd- That Smell, Ted Nugent- Stranglehold and Stevie Ray Vaughan- Little Wing. That would kick ass.
