Yes, a serious thread. Anyways, when did you seriously change mentally?
Like, a few years ago, I was that kid who thought that justice is just, and you know, If someone does something bad, I felt like they deserved pain, because I never was able to get away with anything. And uh... Like if there was an idiot and they were being annoying I was like "You are teh n00b and u phail" and stuff like that. I was always teased because I had a really short temper, and I always started fights because I thought I was right, and all that kinda stuff. But then, over time I felt kinda bad, I had a really low self esteem and then I just all of a sudden realized stuff... Like that everyone has an opion and you should respect it, and If someone acts annoying or does something mean you should just ignore them and stuff like that... I also discovered Scatman John, which was actually a bigger inspiration then you think. And yeah, after that I wasn't an annoying idiot always pointing out what I thought was Right and Wrong.

I use to be really loud and troublesome in elementary school. Then after fifth grade I began to become shy.
Now I'm a pretty quiet and depressed person.
in junior high, i used to be more outgoing and friendlier, now im more withdrawn and cold, unles you get to know me...

Umm... I'm not sure when I changed. I went to Catholic school in first grade, so after that I was like a perfect student teacher's pet. But that changed in middle school. :D
I've pretty much always been the same. Shy, quiet, polite and competitive. :P
Though in recent years I've become more confident and comfortable with myself. I had a identity crisis in parts of middle school and early High School but I'm over that now.
through the last two years, really. realized that not everything is candy & flowers, not everybody loves you just because you're nice to them, that sort of thing. More cynical than I used to be.
and I managed to hold that mentality until I realized that there were people that despised me for something that was entirely not my fault and that I had very little to do with, even though nobody would ever believe that I would do such a thing, they believed it because it came out of the mouths of people they trusted. :|

I used to be the kind of person who took everything personally. I was particularly bad about it, sometimes sulking for days if the insult was bad enough. At one point I was actually depressed. For about three months, I didn't talk to anyone, and only said something if it was absolutely necessary. I hardly ate or slept. I constantly had body aches. It was pretty bad.
Then I had a dream. I was at a party, but I wasn't having fun. I was sitting in a chair the whole time, listening to the music and watching everyone dance. Then all of a sudden, the music stopped, and people stopped dancing. The room got quiet. All of a sudden, I started to laugh. To this day, I don't know what was so funny. But I laughed, and soon everyone around me started laughing. The laughter continued for what seemed like hours. My dream ended with some drunk guy shouting, "See? Laughing isn't so hard, now is it?"
From that point on, my view on the world and myself completely changed. I rarely took things personally. I didn't get stressed anymore, nor was I ever depressed. I went from an uptight, twitchy sort of guy to a much more laid-back and easygoing person. I developed a (dry, sarcastic) sense of humor. I learned to laugh at myself and my mistakes.
There you have it. Easily the corniest NSider story you'll ever read. :)
