My brother used a PS Emulator...
THEY ARE PAINFULLY SLOW & INCREDIBLY LAGGY.
Really, If you want to play Star Ocean, Grandia or Final Fantasy, do yourself a favor and buy a PS.

Wine is a Windows API implementation for UNIX-like systems such as Linux, Solaris, *BSD, GNU, ect.

Anyways, I'd wager the reasons it won't work are because PS1 emulation sucks and you're trying to run it under Wine, which isn't perfect itself.

Then why don't you get video and sound drivers? And you shouldn't need drivers for an optical drive.
