My car has a bit of transmission weirdness goin' on. I've got 2 Drives. Drive, and Overdrive. I usually drive in Overdrive because it gets slightly better gas mileage, or so I've heard. However, half the time when I come to a complete stop, whenever I try to go again, my car acts like it's in Neutral, so I end up revving the engine and going nowhere. Not good. After a few seconds, it'll catch and lurch forward and all that.
HOW I FIX
Give it a hug.
Hug it and tell it if it doesnt work, you will kill it.
Give it a hug.
brb hugging car
Give it a hug.
Give it a hug...

How old is your car?
Lemme ask my dad >_>.
hug it give
It sounds like an Automatic if it only has 2 gears, so you say. I'd say start in regular drive and then switch, see if that works.

Yeah, but regular drive is..bleh. Past 35, when you let go of the accelerator, it jerks.
Overdrive? lol Overdrive Power Rangers
anyways, mechanic.
I'm a Mechanic, but I'm still learning about transmissons, but I'll give it a shot. First of all, what is the make, year, and model?

Ok, It could be low fluid levels or the loss of fluid. If it's not then worst case scenario is getting it repaired at a transmisson shop to get it refurbished or taken apart. It's also could be the age of the transaxle it self. Did you car had a trans. service recently?
Hm.....I'm not much of a car expert (well, I do know about cars, but not repair-wise), so I can't help you here.
Have you tried taking it to a mechanic?
lawl, CVT ftw
HIGH-FIVE STARWIND!
be gentler on the gas? I dunno. get your car serviced, and tell them to look at it.
That's awful for the car. ????
Either ride a bike, or research canadian boating laws, and then use a canoe.

I don't know if it's ever had transmission service done. :x
Not that I can remember, anyways, but I've only been driving it for a year or so.
My truck does that whenever I don't let it warm up properly, you might want to wait a couple minutes before driving it.
Unless this is happening constantly, then you might want to do what the guy that's becomning a mechanic said.

*facepalm* XD
It sounds like your N to 1st gear ratio is messed up. I had this happen with my car only with the 4th to 5th gears. I wish I could tell you this is easy to fix but in reality, you probably need it looked at.

It's a slight possibily that it's the problem. When transaxles age, they tend to get worn out. You need to get it serivced.

Is the computer plugged in?
Yes, and I have the hyperflux drive capacitor wired into the mainframe.
With the, uh, crystals.

Is the computer in the ON position? That is a VERY common mistake!
