how the intercourse  do i save it into an MP3 file?

Go to the website and download the LAME MP3 encoder (seriously). When you try to save a file as an MP3 again, Audacity will ask you to give the downloaded file's location, and it should then be able to save files as MP3s. At least, for Windows anyway.
