Can you guys help me out? I have a few things in mind as far as what I'd like.
I'm somewhat partial to HP's. I just am, whether that's good or bad. Doesn't mean I wouldn't consider another brand, pending the stats were decent enough.. and the machine better look sexy, at least to me, haha.
I'm really looking into a laptop as opposed to a desktop.
3 gigs of RAM or more.
160 GB hard-drive or more.
DVD-RW-able optical drive.
A decent processor/processing speed; I LOVE multi-tasking.
15.4" at the least.. 17" screens are nice. ^_^
I'm not a huge gamer when it comes to computers, but if I could run some old-school Sims and same Halo games without any problems, that'd be great.
What can you guys suggest?
What price are you willing to go up to? And why 3GB of RAM if the most you'll do is Halo and Sims?

Well, I don't know how into gaming I might get if I have a computer that's capable.. plus I'm having a terrible experience with this computer that has very little RAM, etc., and I don't want to be stingy.. unless 2 is enough to handle whatever I'd come across. I'd rather be prepared, but I can always upgrade. I can easily navigate Dell's site to make that system myself then huh?
2GB is enough for most people. Unless you're running some other high-powered apps like Aperture, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, ect. And it should be enough to run most any games.
Im kinda like that to Dells :/, they are better than most put them out to be.
My friend's SEVERAL-years old Dell is functioning 10x+ better than my 2 year old PC.. and I had a Dell myself at one point and had zero problems and it worked very well, so yeah, getting a Dell is not outta the question. I think I'm going out to Circuit City in a little bit (since it's the only place local enough to get to with work within 2 1/2 hours) and browse and try some computers out, but probably won't buy anything today.

Yeah, another good thing about Dell is some sort of a partnership with UPS, since my dad works for UPS we get special discounts on Dells.
