Actually, that's the only good music period. I mean, I like a lot of stuff today, but it just can't beat old music.
On the hip-hop note though, the eighties and nineties had Beastie Boys. And that's awesome.

You'll only find good rap by listening to old stuff or looking farther than MTV, BET, and the Radio.
Rock fans know the same principle applies to rock. If you don't want poop like Fall Out Boy, you need to do some work. I don't know why so many of them are idiotic enough to pretend that Rap is similar in that manner.
It's mostly what I listen to. My favorite genre. The Native Tongues Posse and all its groups, Wu-Tang, Run-D.M.C., stuff like that. And Kurtis Blow and Mantronix and old electro poop like that. :0)
But yeah, there's still good rap out there if you look.
