Why does Japan only have the game delayed a week while we have it delayed for a month?
What ever happened to worldwide release dates for popular games?

Maybe some issues with translation
NoA is being insanely lazy and cheap. And Nitnendo is becoming more homeland based (despite the fact that they already dominate japan and america has a much larger gaming community and has more money to offer to buy games than japan does)
Sakurai said that it was something about the game's development. I think it's BS, though. 1 month. >_>

It's complete BS. If it comes out in Japan in two and a half weeks, the game is DONE. It has to be done or there is not time to manuafacture and ship the game to stores etc. So the game is done, which is why this delay is completely unwarranted.

Competition.
It was originally moved due to
-Overshadowing other Nintendo Properties
-Coming in with fierce competition that MP3 and SMG SHOULD have been able to handle.
Same thing, once again.
You have 3 exclusive licenses; de Blob, No More Heroes, and Professor Layton, which look like they will dominate the market.
NMH is not an issue for Japan, being based in America.
de Blob is underestimated in Japan
Layton is already released.
There are other properties that will wreak havoc in the market in the U.S. but not Japan, but I just chose 3 you may have heard of...
