SANDBAG
BACKGROUND INFO
First Appearance: Super Smash Bros. Melee
System: GCN
Year: 2001
Sandbag is the character that appears in the Stadium game "Home Run Contest" in both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In this mode, he stands perfectly still, so the player can hit him. It does not hurt Sandbag if he is attacked, and he actually enjoys watching the players take their best shots at him.
INCLUSION IN BRAWL
Sandbag's comical nature has earned him some what of a fan base, and if he was playable he would be a unique addition to the series.
1. He was in Melee.
2. He would be a unique addition to the series.
3. He would serve as a rep. from the Smash Bros. Universe which is yet to have a rep.
COMMON ARGUMENTS
Of course, with every character, there's always those who are infuriated by the fact of Sandbag's inclusion...
1. He can't fight.
Fox, Falco, Capt. Falcon and Mr. Game & Watch couldn't fight until Melee came out, also look at the Moveset below.
2. He is already in the HRC so he can't be playable.
You know you should try something, go into VS. Mode and have Player 1 select Mario and have Player 2 select Mario as well, then start the match. Believe it or not, doing this makes Mario fight against Mario. 2 M@RI0$ FTW!!!111
3. He sucks!
That is an opinion.
SANDBAG IN BRAWL
First thing that comes to mind when speaking of Sandbag in Brawl is that he'd be slow and heavy because... Well... he's a bag of sand of course. :P
So to make up for his low speed he must have powerful attacks and great jumping ability. Since Sandbag is so used to being sent flying, he is probably more aerodynamic than most other characters, giving him a large jump. You may think that a heavy fighter with a good jump is a bit unfair but look at King Dedede, even Sakurai himself called Dedede a "Heavy Hitter".
MOVESET
His standard moves would consist of spins, headbutts, tackles, etc...
B
-Homerun-
Sandbag sends himself flying in the opposite direction he is facing, this attack is chargable.
B >
-Extra Distance-
Sandbag sends himself sliding along the ground in the opposite direction he is facing. This attack is chargable.
B V
-Moment of Impact-
Sandbag jumps into the air and slams down onto the ground.
B ^
-Hit by a Falcon-
Sandbag sends himself flying into the air off the screen, eventually he comes back down and you can control where he lands.
Final Smash
-Revenge-
Suddenly the stage changes into the Home Run Contest stage and all of the players other than Sandbag are frozen solid (not with ice just they can't move) and a Home Run Bat appears by Sandbag, then you can hit the opponents all you like to try and hit them as far as you can just like in the real Home Run Contest. After 10 seconds the stage goes back to normal with all the characters back to where they were, albeit with heaps of damage.
Discuss.
