Situation:
1. I start a game in Civ 4: Beyond the Sword, in the mod "Rhye's and fall of civilization". This mod is basically a real world sim, but you can variate alot of it (for instance, I've taken over all of europe, the middle east, north africa, britain and asia minor as the Arabians and the Germans, both in different time periods (camel archers are way overpowered and the germans get frickin free upgrades late game. I've also taken over china with japan and conquered all of africa and the middle east with Egypt before being destroyed by a ravaging uprising arabian empire).
I'm playing as the Aztects (if you don't know, they're basically modern day mexico, except 1400 years ago before the filthy europeans).
Everything is daisies until around 1400 AD when barbarians start raiding my country. I get mad and drive to longbowmen to be able to kill them with ease.
1492 comes and goes, and Spain hasn't shown up.
then 1600 hits.
my speakers are turned on way too loud.

France had somehow made Portugal & Mali (northwest africa) their vassals, and had come across the ocean, declaring war on me on sight. What the Fuck.
So Portugal takes a couple of my cities at the bottom of the gulf of mexico. In a normal game situation, I'm intercourse ed at this point, because I only have archers. But I had longbowmen, so Portugal got assraped and I got my cities back.
Next I make a mad dash to go get some Iron (because I didn't have any metal yet due to my starting point & the mass amounts of barbarians), build a city and meet the English. They don't declare war on me because they're not hopeless idiots.
France decides to land in Florida-ish area. Don't know why, but they do. I rush my longbowmen over there (Cortez the great being one of my heroes, ironically).
Just before I attack, they build a city and run away. :|

so I grab the city.
smooth sailing from there on in. I repelled the european invasion and the american uprising (lol, america) and won the game. o_O
with the frickin aztects.
who were supposed to die around 1600. o_O

it works differently in the mod. There weren't many english cities left, so there weren't many american cities to form aside from the ones they're automatically given. I had superior numbers, not technology, but I took them out regardless.

I remember once in Civ III when I was playing as the Japanese, It was, like, 2030 or something, so I was in the Modern Ages, but the other empires were all in the Medieval times -_-
So, I was bored, so I nuked, I think it was the Americans...
Well, A. the nuke did barely anything.
B. Evidently, they knew EXACTLY what a nuclear bombs were, and everyone turned against me, allied each other, and declared war on me.
I got my ASS KICKED.
My tanks were mutilated by the Ball-on-Chain guys, most of my bombing missions failed.
They just completely annihilated me, there was no way to win -_-

I played an 18 civ game on a duel map the other day. frickin hilarious.
I started in the bottom right corner of one of the two islands. Don't remember who I was, but I don't think it mattered. Anyways, since I had the corner, I managed to get two more cities in besides my capital, which was two more than everyone else had in the game. :P I think I was Tokugawa leading the Koreans, but it didn't matter, because I didn't get past grenadiers before I won a domination victory anyways. :P
needless to say, I slaughtered them. with increased cities they were completely mutilated. There were no horse units, and once someone declared war on someone else, everyone would gang up on them and they would die within 5 turns. I made my way up the island, destroying everyone in my path. I got nearly all of the world wonders while everyone else struggled with one or two cities, and at only two points was I outclassed by other civs. One was right at the start, when I used my production to make settlers instead of warriors, and another was later on, when Mansa Musa, leader of the Americans (usually Mali) somehow got liberalism before me. o_O
I had taken over my entire island and had set my sights on the other shore (I had long ago declared war on france & portugal and was bombarding their shores with destroyers, completely kicking their trireme's asses when they dared leave the safety of their cities), but I won the turn after I killed the japanese...
in the mod I was talking about earlier, I had taken over nearly enough of the world to win as Germany, but the mod also has this "stability" feature, where if your stability goes low enough, your empire collapses and seperates back into the individual civilizations once again. As Germany, I had conquered so much land, had so many nukes, and had over 200 modern armor (yeah, I like to stockpile those things) but managed to overexpand myself. So one turn I had 1/3 of the landmass. I then pressed Enter, and over fifteen minutes later (that's how long it took to seperate the countries back into either civs or barbarian states) I was left with Berlin and about 5 tanks, the ones not in cities. :\
I think I won the Arabian game though.
Civ 4 is just so awesome. there are so many incredible mods to go with it, my favorite being Fall From Heaven. It's a complete fantasy mod with spells, summons, anything you can think of. if the world gets too evil, it suffers the consequences, and the angel civilization comes into play to fend them off. just random stuff like that that just makes it so complete.
I've had quite a few epic wins, but whenever I do win, I always start the same way.

I think it was the Egyptians, they wouldn't build at all, so they couldn't get past Ancient times because their citizens rarely
didn't revolt.

it's even rarer when civs build cities then let you walk in and take them.
There's this one unit in the fantasy mod that has like.... 40 health with an easy increase to 60 (the second highest unit has 30 as a base and can't increase higher than that), can damage every unit around it (including your own, lol) at once with one spell (which can hurt them until they die), gets bonuses against basically everything, and can only be killed by either insane amounts of stupidity or a country's entire army, in which case you'll win the war anyways. :P
I always go for that unit.
