With the highlighted buttons (or lighted buttons, those ones where there is a little light on the top) I know you don't have to strum on those ones, but is it better to learn not to strum, or is it better to just strum on all of them?
Is it really hard on expert so the only way to get past it would be to not strum on the lighted notes?
you dont have to strum, but if you miss the regular note thats before the lighted note(s), you have to strum. same goes for if you miss one of the lighted notes in a chain. ;)
I know you don't have to strum, but would it be helpful to learn to not strum on those highlighted notes for expert?
Or, because it doesn't work if you don't strum the normal note before, should I just carry on strumming them?
They're called hammer ons. ;)
And yes, learn to not strum It will help immensly.
It will help on songs like....Cult of Personality. ;D
Thought so, it's just quite annoying... It's a habit to strum now, it seems so hard not to strum :D
i personally don't strum if its a fast part and there only one, surrounded by a bunch of normal notes. but with some songs, the hammer one save your life. :P
Hammer-ons and pull-offs aren't really that helpful until hard, So until then you could probably just strum them.
The Cult of Personality, The Metal, and Raining Blood are the three songs in expert that you will NEED to hammer-on.
Really, the earlier songs in Expert are easier than some Hard songs.

Grr...I still haven't beaten that song on expert yet...the solo is so annoying. But yeah, the only way to play this song is with the hammer ons.
