Title: ATTACK OF THE CLONES (please read; tis important)
Post by: Neerb on January 22, 2008, 05:31:49 AM
Alright, I know that the leak yesterday about Lucario, Jiggs, and Ness was awesome, but I have suddenly realized something...

Why did some people expect Ness to be kicked out?  Because:  Lucas, who was announced first, has the same moves.  However, this has brought me to a startling revelation:  unless they change Ness' moveset (which I doubt), Brawl will now officially have CLONES!!!  And if they can do this, what's to stop Sakurai from making other clones?! What if Ganondorf and Falco are not decloned?!  Or worse... What if Pichu and Dr. Mario return?!?!?!

Then again, Ness could be pretty easy to declone....

Oh great...another clone wars.
This is precisely why I don't want Ness in again.

well they're not complete clones.
Moves like Lucas' Pk freeze and the snakerope help make him different from Ness
And the fact that PK fire and the PSI magnet have changed from Ness' moveset.
pk fire only fires straight and the Psi magnet only protects you from the front.
IMO
Ness:Lucas::Mario:Luigi

Clones have the same A-moves essentially, so Ness and Lucas are just similar, not clones. I also imagine their Final Smashes will be different. However, does this mean that Claus won't be making an appearance? Meh, we'll see.

You're right.  I don't see why everybody thinks Lucas is a clone of Ness.  Just so you guys know Sakurai said that the clones returning will have their moveset redone.  I'm sorry that you guys won't see characters that have the same moveset as someone else.  It's very dissapointing...

Ness could actually have moves he ACTUALLY learned in earthbound.

As a HUGE Mother fan I know how easy it his to declone Ness, heck they could even add in Paula and Starman and they would all have original movesets!

Mother ia an RPG set in modern times, the main characters attack with PSI powers Ness could use a large variety of moves using those PSI Powers, PSI Earth, PSI Flash could be changed to make it more different from PSI Freeze, PSI Brainshock would be a good move... And also I just remembered Sakurai said that Lucas would have different Smash Attack Moves so Ness could take his Baseball Bat and Yo-Yos and perhaps use them in his special attacks.

I don't really see why people care about clones. I'm fine with them, but it would have been better if they would have made them a different moveset, instead of having them copy another character's moveset.

You just answered your question.  Also, Pichu and Dr. Mario just don't deserve to be in at all, clone or decloned.

Those two should be kicked out before anyone else.

Pichu is back, but he evolved.
And what would have been so terrible about Dr.Mario and Pichu coming back?  >:(

1.  There shouldn't be any more than 1 pokemon of the same evolutionary line.  No Pichu, no Raichu, just Pikachu.
2.  While Paper Mario is awesome, could have an extremely unique moveset (with the exception of the hammer, which he would have to have even though Dedede, Kirby, and ICs already have one), and he is OVER 9000 times better than the doctor, I still doubt he will be in.

id say paper mario's chances arent bad
but i dont expect raichu to be in but that wouldve been a great final smash transformation

I think he actually has better chances than the Doctor.  I mean, if we're going to have a second Mario, it might as well be the one that has a unique look, cool moveset, is more popular, and HAS ACTUALLY HAD A RECENT GAME.  Unfortunately, the Doctor has that whole "veteran" thing going for him...

Even if Paper Mario doesn't get in, Dr. mario should definately stay away.

agreed
no reason to waste character space :)
